For some years I’ve been running an HTPC with Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. It’s a full size PC currently running Ubuntu 12.04 and has never had any problems with the keyboard and mouse operating from a distance of 2.5 metres. I recently bought an Intel NUC D54250WYKH and using the same mouse and keyboard (under Ubuntu 14.04) I can’t get them to operate reliably even at anything over 1 metre. Could this be some kind of power issue?
Before anyone asks, yes I’m using freshly charged batteries in both devices.
I realise that there is also a different OS version at play here, but I haven’t been able to find anyone complaining about this kind of issue with Ubuntu 14.04 so I’m inclined to think the hardware difference is the problem.
The only similar problem I’ve found here is this one: NUC I5 haswell and wireless keyboard issues. The solution offered is useless to me as my products didn’t come with any kind of ‘range extender’ and Logitech gives their line-of-sight range as 10 metres anyway.
