Dual Channel Memory

Hi Intel crew,

I have a couple of questions relating to dual channel memory that I’m hoping you can help me with…

  1. In modern-day Intel parlance, (and as applied to NUC’s), does the term Dual Channel Memory imply that, in addition to a double-width data path, an ‘Interleaved mode’ will also be applied?  -provided of course the SPD info from the memory devices indicates that they are sufficiently closely matched for interleaving to occur.

  2. If the reply to the above is yes, then is it enough for the two memory devices to be simply from the same manufacturing batch -or do the devices have to have factory-matched parameters in order for Interleaved Mode to operate?

Thanks in advance for any replies

Cheers
