In section 2.2.4.4 of the DE3815TYBE technical specification it indicates that the NUC can be powered from the internal connector using +12VDC -10% though +24VDC +10%. However, external power has a maximum voltage of 19VDC +10%. Why is this? Is there some circuitry between the internal and external connector that prevent apply +24VDC + 10% to the external connector?
I would like to have confidence that I can power the board externally with +24VDC without damaging it.
