Infrared stops responding on D34010WYK

I have Windows 7 installed on a D34010WYK.  I installed the latest Bios and drivers and the Infrared works for a short while and then becomes unresponsive.  After a reboot the Infrared works again for a short while and then becomes unresponsive.  I installed a USB infrared receiver and it works fine, but I would rather get the built in one working.  I tried reinstalling the nuvoton IR drivers, but had the same problem.  What else can I try?
