Setup:

D54250WYK, Manufactured October 2013

BIOS - late October 2013 (need to find out version)

2x4GB Adata SO-DIMM

500GB mSATA Samsung Evo 840 SSD

Vantec NextStar USB3.0 Dual Dock, with WD Black 2TB attached

Dell Keyboard

Logitech G400S Mouse

Operating System: Windows 10 Technical Preview (Build 9926)

(Mouse and Keyboard attached to non powered USB "hub" in back USB 3.0 port, Docking Station connected to the other USB Port

Purchased the NUC from Amazon in November 2013, setup with Windows 8.1 with a Kingston 120GB mSATA SSD

Zero issues aside from needing to connect keyboard directly to USB port when trying to enter BIOS

In February 2015 I purchased the 500GB mSATA SSD, and placed in system (removing Kingston 120GB), installed Windows 10 Technical Preview to test

Until a few weeks ago, had no issues but whenever I have had to reboot, I now get an error message advising

BIOS has detected unsuccessful POST attempt(s).  [Something no boot device].  Press 'Y' to enter Setup or  'N' to cancel and attempt to boot with previous settings

I have had to start making sure the USB Dock is not connected when rebooting, but over the weekend this message kept appearing even with only the USB Keyboard and Mouse attached directly to the system

BIOS told me I had no bootable devices under UEFI and Legacy settings and I got stuck in a loop when I restarted and in order to get into the BIOS again I had to pull the power to the system.

Eventually I got back in, and everything is ok BUT I am rather scared to have to reboot because this system is my only system at home.

Searching through the forum at work, I read a few threads that seem to indicate this is a "common" issue and found an answer that mentioned a new daughter board - however I can not longer find this.

I did originally come in looking for a new BIOS version thinking that my issue is to do with the higher capacity mSATA...

Any ideas?
