I have active audio monitors hooked up to my s/pdif out from my tv's HDMI. The audio from the D34010 i recently bought, works fine when only coming from the tv itself. But when connected to the audio monitors there is a harsh hissing and clicking sound. The sound is even there when the nuc is turned off. This had led me to the conclusion that it must be a grounding issue. Switching power supplies are known for introducing noise because of grounding issues.
So here to my question: The d34010 specs say that it can handle a power supply with secondary voltage of 12-19v. I want to get hold of a regular winded power transformer and make my own power supply. A good idea?
