Hi all,
I'm experiencing speed drops (even full stops for few seconds) while transferring files from the NUC5PPYH to a 5Tb Seagate Desktop Expansion drive.
I've run few tests transferring the following:
- Large files 2~25GB
- Small files <1GB
- Mix of small and large files
All resulted with the same speed drops and stops.
I've tried changing the "Removal Policy" and enabling/disabling "Write-caching" with no luck.
Actually, "quick removal" policy had the least transferring stops and drops.
The weird thing is that I don't experience those drops using the same HDD plugged to my laptop, where It transfers at full rate!.
So I assume that it's the NUC's fault.
Hardware tested:
- NUC5PPYH
- Kingston Technology 4GB 1600MHz DDR3L PC3-12800 1.35V Non-ECC CL11 SODIMM Intel Laptop Memory KVR16LS11/4
- Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-75E250B/AM)
- Seagate Expansion 5TB Desktop External Hard Drive USB 3.0 (STEB5000100)
- ASUS N550JV (Laptop)
- Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-75E250B/AM)
Operation System:
- NUC5PPYH running Windows 8.1 Pro
- ASUS N550JV running Windows 8.1
Drivers are all up to date.
