I'm getting a warning message from Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Processor-Power in the eventlog on my DC53427HYE with Windows 7.
Some background information:
* NUC model: DC53427HYE
* BIOS version: RKPPT10H.86A.0023.2013.0529.1711.
* All drivers up to date.
* All Windows patches applied.
* Bios settings set to default.
The warning message:
Log Name: System
Source: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Processor-Power
Date: 2013-07-31 14:34:42
Event ID: 37
Task Category: (7)
Level: Warning
Keywords:
User: SYSTEM
Computer: NUC
Description:
The speed of processor 0 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report.
This message repeats for processor 1, 2 and 3. It appears shortly after boot, but does not reappear until next boot.
It seems to be possible to get rid of the warning message by disabling "Intel dynamic power technology" in BIOS, which in turn disables "Enhanced Intel speedstep" and "Turbo boost".
Does anyone have a clue what windows is complaining about? Is windows simply stating the fact that the CPU is clocking down to 800Mhz when idling?
The temperature readings is withing the expected range for the NUC. Around 55c on the CPU and motherbord when idle.
