3rd monitor not recognized in collage mode

Hi,

I made an installation with three video-wall displays and Intel NUC-machine.

The Intel Graphics finds the monitors and an extended display can be used with all of them.

As the installation topology is 1x3 (ie. wanted resolution is 1920x3240px) collage mode is needed.

When entering the collage -mode settings, the Intel Graphics finds only 2 displays at the time.

How can I use all of the three displays in collage mode?

As per the Dell's link below, it is said the third (last) monitor needs to be set to DP1.1.

Can anyone confirm this?

*EDIT* We tried this (last screen in DP1.1 and that didn't work either.

Machine:

INTEL NUC BOXNUC7i7BNH Core i7-7567U

With Windows 10 HP

Displays:

NEC X554UNV (daisy chained with DP-DP cables in DP mode 1.2).

Display connection via Targus USB-C - Display Port -adapter.

NUC6CAYH - Can't install SteamOS from USB

I've tried everything I've thought of trying to install SteamOS:

http://store.steampowered.com/steamos/buildyourown

I have followed the instructions and unzipped to my USB, but it appears the USB drive isn't being picked up by the machine. In BIOS, only the following show up in Boot Devices:

UEFI : LAN : IP4 Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

UEFI : LAN : IP6 Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

In the Advanced -> Boot -> Boot Configuration menu, I have tried various combos on "OS Selection" and "Boot USB Devices First", but I would expect the logical selections to be "Linux" and "Yes" (these are the only things I changed away from the default).

Any help appreciated as I'm all out of ideas.

NUC6CAYH screen turns black for a second

Hi. I`m having issues with a recently buyed NUC6CAYH. The screen will randomly turn completely black for a second or two. (it happend once every 4 or 5 minutes or once every 4 to 5 seconds)

It has windows 10 Pro installed with latest bios (040) and drivers installed.

It is connected via VGA cable to a LCD display (resolution: 1440x900@60Hz).

The things i`ve tried so far:

  • lowering the display resolution to other than the native display stops the flickering or at least makes it less frequent.
  • I had keyboard, mouse and two printers connected to a back USB port through a 2.0 USB hub. removing the USB hub eliminate de flickering (or at least it has not flicker once in about an hour) [Hub works flawlessly in other PCs]
  • Connecting mouse keyboard and two USB hdds makes the flickering happen at least once every 30 minutes.

Thanks in advance and excuse my english.

Intel® HD Graphics Driver Version: 15.46.2.4729 (Latest)

This driver is listed under downloads for a NUC6i5SYH, as for Windows 7*, 8.1*, and Windows® 10* for Intel® NUC Kit NUC6i3SY and NUC6i5SY. However it does not install on a NUC6i5SYH running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and the release notes advise that it is [only] for Microsoft Windows* 10-64.

Also, installing this driver in a NUC7i5BNH running Microsoft Windows* 10-64 has led to some apparently intractable issues with audio in MPC-HC. I haven't seen any other reference to this driver update in recent discussions, but is it possible that the audio issues might be resolved with application of the latest bios version to the NUC7i5BNH? I am currently running bios version 46 and have no intention of updating it until I am confident that other issues raised in discussions here relating to bios version 48 have been resolved.

Hello,

How do I access the BIOS on Intel's board model Crescentbay, installed in a NUC5i7RYF (fanless)?

So far, holding [F2] and/or [DEL] at startup does not work. I could not locate a BIOS mode jumper on the board.

This is what I could find:

Hi Intel,

I'm looking for the drivers for windows Server 2012R2....here's the interesting part....your hardware IS the OEM.

So, in reference to your Post at:  communities.intel.com/thread/102107  ......this doesn't make sense.

Your harware is the Intel NUC NUC6i7KYK

Is there a reason that you don't make drivers for Windows Server 2012r2 for your own device??

This is a limiting  factor with this device,as i want to purchase a 40Gbit External NIC :

ThunderLink® | Thunderbolt 3 to 40GbE Adapter Dual port | ATTO

Kind Regards,

The guy who spent money and can't use the device as intended...because of Drivers.

NUC6CAYH switch on with Remote not working

$

I am using 3 different Nuc with Libreelec 8.0 as HTPC connected with HDMI to TV : DN2820FYKH NUC5PPYH and NUC6CAYH

All Nucs have the same XBOX360 Media Remote connected

The DN2820FYKH NUC5PPYH can be switched on with this remote, but not the NUC6CAYH

The internal CIR is activated and the Remote is working switch off is working and so on but not switch on.

Latest Bios (29) is installed. CEC is activated, so the Nuc starts when TV gets switch on and when switch off the Nuc, the TV switched off too

When the CEC is deactivated it is not possible to switch on the NUC (also when its enabled) with the Remote only with the Power-button

In the Bios i have set to start from S3/S4/S5 via CIR, played around with the settings, but unable to switch the Nuc on with the Remote

Also the Nuc starts by itself after switch off sometimes, sometime switching the TV also on, sometimes not

The NUC6CAYH is connected via HDMI with a Toshiba 40XV733G

Any suggestion what i am doing wrong ?

NUC7i3BNK with Windows 10 will not power down or restart properly

I immediately updated the bios when I got my NUC, then installed UBUNTU on it.  It worked well and issuing the shutdown command powered the NUC down just fine.  I decided to wipe the drive and install Windows 10 on it. All the device drivers, chipset drivers, etc installed just fine. Then I went to restart the NUC from Windows.  It hung up with the power light still on and there was no video output on the screen.  I had to hold the power button down until is powered off.  Once I got it booted up, I issued a shutdown from windows 10 and again the screen went blank and the power button light stayed on.  I booted from a LINUX USB drive I have and tested shutting the NUC down and it worked just fine and powered all the way down so this is definitely a Windows 10 problem.

This doesn't seem like a big deal but it is when the NUC is setup as my HTPC and everytime Windows 10 applies and update and restarts (which I cannot stop from happening thanks Microsoft), the NUC goes down but doesn't come back up and none of my devices can access it and my family blames me for not being able to access our movies, pictures, etc.

Does anyone else have this problem.  Any suggestions on what to do?  I  even wiped the drive again and reinstalled windows but didn't manually install / update any drivers or let Windows install any update and the problem was there from the get go.

Unable to install Windows 10 on NUC6i5SYB

Hi,

I bought on NUC6i5SYB, installed 16GB of RAM and a Kingston 128GB SSD drive.

I have an official Windows10 USB stock from Microsoft.

I am unable to install the operating system on the device.

I have updated the BIOS to version 61 to avoid the M.2 SSD Slot problem.

However, I am still not able to install the operating system :

- When I choose the UEFI boot method, the device stall with a black screen or with the startup screen immediately after boot

- When I choose Legacy boot mode, I get to the point where I can select either 32 bit or 64 bit Windows OS

> When I choose 64 bit Windows, after loading files for a short time, I an presented with a Windows Boot Manager error screen "Operating System Missing" error code 0xC0000098.

> When i choose 32 bit Windows, the system stays on the "Loading files..." screen for a very long time and the I land on the same error ..98 screen.

NUC6i3SYH Video and Audio Issues

$

I have a NUC6i3SYH (16gb Crucial DDR4 2133RAM (2x8GB), 256GB Intel M.2, 27" LG 27UD58 Monitor running up to date windows 10) and have 2 issues with it:

1. The audio: on first boot the audio doesn't work. If you restart the computer (which takes an age if the audio isn't working) it will work when it re-starts. This is just mildly annoying and never used to be like this. Is this something windows update has broken? I have updated the bios to SY0061.BIO as I was running one 57 or something equally old and it's not made any difference? Windows normally boots in a matter of seconds and when the audio is working restarts very quickly.

2. I'm getting some flicker on part of the screen. I'm unclear if this is down to the monitor or the gpu? It's a fairly recent problem and seems worse if the computer has been on for a while making me wonder if it's an issue with the GPU and heat? Where is the best place to start trouble shooting this issue? Or is it a known issue with the NUC?

Thanks in advance.

Dave

INTEL NUCi7 3D MVC ISSUE

$

Coming from Intel NUC DN2820 I was able to play 3D MVC with Kodi with new Intel Media SDK, I just purchased Intel NUC NUC7i3BNK and 3D playback doesn't work.

On the Intel NUC DN2820, the resolution was set 1920X1080p 3D and everything works great

On the Intel NUC NUC7i3BNK either I set the 1920X1080p 3D or  3820X2160p 3D doesn't work

The Intel Media SDK was supposed to allow 3D MVC to work, I did some testing and found the HDMI 2.0 connection is the one causing the issue and any NUC with HDMI 2.0 doesn't work/

Cannot get 2560x1440 output on NUC6i7KYK via HDMI

I have just purchased my first NUC Skull Canyon and I have connected it to my Samsung S27B971D WQHD monitor. However, 2560x1440 is not listed in the available resolutions. I have also tried to add it manually through Intel Iris Graphics Control Panel but I am getting "The custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity". 3 different HDMI cables I have tried with no success. I am pretty sure that I can get this resolution through DisplayPort but currently I do not have one. I am pretty sure I can get it through HDMI as well, as I have read that 4K is supported through HDMI on this machine.

No Audio on NUC7i7BNH 10Prox64

I first attempted a Win7Ux64 install on the NUC and was able to limp along with it.  Finally decided to install the spyware known as Win10 so I could actually use all the hardware on the NUC.

Display Adapter shows the Iris Plus 650 as installed

Other Devices - Multimedia Audio Controller has the Warning Icon

But I have no audio, So, I have:

Uninstalled and deleted the graphics drivers.

Uninstalled and deleted the (Other Devices) Multimedia Audio Controller.

Installed the latest IDUU and ran it.  I get failure on the Graphics Driver Install (probably audio related)

Downloaded the zip and EXE of the latest graphics driver (dated Aug23 both through IDUU and manually)

Uninstalled and reinstalled the graphics drivers 4,789 times (this number might be hyperbole)

(did this both manually through the Device Manager, and using the executable)

Ran the Win 10 troubleshooter as to why the device isn't working.

"Trouble shooting couldn't find the problem"

Detailed information:

Issues Found

Check Audio Device: Detected (yellow-triangle !)

There might be a problem with your audio device/  (really, you think?)

Checked the BIOS to make sure everything is enabled (it is)

Checked Windows Update (there are no more updates available)

NUC5CPYH bios resolution too high for my monitor.

Hi,
I can't open the BIOS screen or the boot menu as my monitor just says "input not supported". I've tried testing the NUC at a different monitor at a friends place and it displays the BIOS but the resolution seems to be 1600x900 or something. The monitor at home supports a max resolution of 1280x1024.

I don't understand why the NUC boots up at such a high resolution. Is there a way to make it run at a lower supported resolution?

Black Screen with 3D Games on a brand new Skull Canyon with LG 5K thunderbolt display

$

HI,

I'm running a new Skull Canyon device along with a new LG 5K (27MD5KA-B) thunderbolt monitor. It's a pretty plain install of Windows 10 pro, the intel utility to download all the latest drivers, and steam to play some games.

If I want to play full screen 3D games with the LG monitor, I get a black screen. Anything 3d - Wolfenstein, HL2, TF2, etc. Anything else is fine.

If I attempt to play them with a standard HDMI monitor, the games work fine.

I've completed a full wipe and install just to cover that area. The thunderbolt firmware has been updated to the latest, and the utility is installed to 'authorise' the monitor.

I'm attaching the output of the SSU.

Any help to resolve this would be greatly appreciated!

NUC 6i7kyk just started rebooting spontaneously

I've had the system for 4 months and it works great for the most part but recently it started rebooting itself randomly--at least a couple times a day.  I ran a windows memory test and the test said I have a memory problem that should be addressed by the manufacturer.

Before I pursue that I thought it would make sense to try to update all the drivers and BIOS. It looks like most drivers and the bios all have updates since I bought the system in April 2017.  I downloaded the driver bundle and found on-line the recommendations to do the updates manually instead of using the Intel Driver Update Utility.  I'm about to get started but since I'm not a hardware/BIOS/Drivers expert I thought I post a question:

Is my approach here the right one?  That is, to update everything before trying to get the memory vendor to replace the memory?  Or is this just a waste of time?

Thanks.
