NUC7i5BNK Screen flicker come back with Windows10 1803

Dear all

I updated my NUC os to Windows 10 1803 by new installation today,  and find that the Screen flicker come back with my 4K@60Hz monitor.

Since I have to may work at daytime, so I have not do anyother test yet.

Do anyothers has similar problem like me?

UPS for NUC + USB powered screen

In order to make the NUC PC system portable for at least 3 hours, there has to be an UPS battery.

 

Is there now something already to exchange the size of the mSATA SSD with battery power in the NUC?

 

Looking at reviews about the Fit-Uptime UPS they all state that it does not work. And intel service has mistaken validated this device here, because the Fit-Uptime UPS does not also support screen. And who runs a nuc without screen?

 

Are there other (lightweight portable) UPS batteries available to buy in Europe that can power NUC + USB powered screen for at least 3 hours and be bought elsewhere than in the amazon jungle?

Quick question.

 

Does removing the power cable, leaving the box overnight and then re-powering up the next day have any effect either adverse or advantageous?

NUC7i7BNH WiFi connectivity issues

Hi,

 

The issues with the Wifi started from day one. After installing Windows 10 Pro the wifi already worked (Win10 installed already some drivers).

Then suddenly even though the Wifi icon on the taskbar still shows as connected I received the dinosaur of Chrome.

After some time the website was refreshed and loaded successfully.

This was repeating every once and a while... Can happen 2-3 times in an hour or nothing happens for few hours.

 

I then downloaded the drivers from Intel site and installed it. For some reason, Win10 updated my driver to a newer version (20.40.0.4) that is not appearing on Intel site.

Supposed to be great for me a better driver, but Wifi still not working well, the same issue.

 

Now, whenever this happened I change from the 5GHz to 2.4GHz, but the same issue happens here as well.

I find myself changing the connections every once and a while.

 

Before this happens I experience slowing of the internet speed, but not sure if this is the network or the adapter.

 

I'm using an older version of NUC5i7 and NUC5i5 with no issues, but this new computer makes my life complicated as I sometimes streaming halts and download of files stops in the middle and I need to load all over again.

 

I search for cases like this on the web but didn't find something about that, I did turn off the save power on the Power Managment tab of the adaptor setting, I checked that the computer will not put to sleep the adapter, but nothing helps.

 

Is there anything you can think of or recommend me to do, besides install the computer from the beginning as I already installed all my programs and defined lots of things on it.

NUC5i7RYB freezes streaming video with any browser

Hello,

 

With Mozilla dropping NPAPI support in the latest version I lost the last browser that would stream video without freezing.(netflix, france24.com/en youtube,...).

Right now my NUC is a very expensive brick.

 

I have to run for now the Extended supported Firefox Release to be able to stream anything, but this version is plagued by image stuttering and poor video quality.

 

As I mentioned in the title, with any browser - Edge, Chrome Mozilla- once I click on the icon to start streaming, the NUC unit freezes completely and the cpu fan starts running at full speed.

The only option I have left is to hold down the power button to stop it.

When I browse the os event log I do not see any meaningful critical message for hw or sw.

 

NUC is the worst platform the big Intel came up with.

 

With any other PC, laptop or tablet in the household I do not experience any of this issues.

 

If you could help me, here is the system info:

Can I update my computer's BIOS?

Hey,guys!

I have an NUC with the cpu i5-5250u and intel motherborad bonded together.It is not exactely an Intel's NUC5i5RYK or NUC5i5RYH,but made by an unknown OEM company.

But I guess that it has the same hardwares as NUC5i5RYK.

What i want to know is that whether I can update this computer's BIOS by using NUC5i5RYK‘s BIOS update sofeware.bios3.PNG

Is HDR support in windows 10 creators update supported for this model?

 

I cant find anything to activate it? In the HD control panel i cant change color depth and so on..

 

Do we need graphics driver with WDDM 2.2?

Green pixels on Intel NUC7i5BNK

We purchased an Intel NUC7i5BNK to connect to an 80" interactive touch display for use in the classroom.From the initial set up, we have had an issue where there have been multiple green pixels showing up on the display (more so on the lock screen after initial boot).I have tried different display drivers, with no luck.I tried connecting the NUC to a 1080p monitor but did not notice the pixel issue. I have tried a different computer connect to the 80" touchscreen, but it did not have the pixel issue.If I uninstall the Intel display driver and leave the NUC running the Microsoft generic driver, there are no green pixels.This leads me to the conclusion that it is likely a display driver issue.I have tried about 2 other drivers, with the same result:

  • version 23.20.16.4944
  • version 21.20.16.4678

 

OS: Windows 10 Education, 64bit version 1709

Display: 3840x2160@60Hz via HDMI

 

Any other suggestions?


NUC7I7BNHXG crashed not booting anymore , stuck at loading wheel

Hello , I was watching a movie last night suddenly my NUC crashed it just rebooted.

Now it won't turn on no matter what i do , I even wanted to reinstall windows but it won't see the hard drive from the bootable windows usb.

Im running windows 10.

NUC 5i5RYH Boot Setup

I have pressed F10 and have looked at the Boot setup and would like some advice, please.

 

a) Boot Priority.  I have Legacy Boot enabled and not UEFI. Is this OK? I do not know if it makes a difference but I have BIOS version 0367 installed as 0369 slows it down unacceptably. I remember when switching back from 0369 to 0367 it mentioned something about legacy. I wish I had paid better attention.

 

b) Boot Configuration.  I have Boot from USB First enabled and not Fast Boot. I remember changing it when I did a clean install of W10. Should I go back to Fast Boot? Does it matter?

 

c) Secure Boot. This is not enabled. I do understand that for this to be enabled then UEFI Boot in a) above must be enabled first. Should I enable Secure Boot?

New Nuc - no power

Good evening everyone!

 

I thought of treating myself a little and decided to go and purchase a NUC today, feeling happy and all.
However, after assembling and plug in, I push the powerbutton - there is no power. No lamp is lit, I also tried different AC jacks

 

What should i do???

Hello -- I have  Modula Skull Canyon (NUC6i7KYB) running Windows 10 version 1511 (out of date, I know, but this is a problem for a different forum and a reason I found out the BIOS weren't updating). My current BIOS version reads as #0037 (KYSKLi70.86A.0037.2016.0603.1032) in both the Windows command prompt query and the BIOS boot menu on startup. The following steps have been attempted to install BIOS releases 0053, and then 0051 when that didn't take.

 

I first attempted to remedy this automatically with the Intel Driver and Support Assistant. I am prompted that I need a BIOS update, which I downloaded and installed, and after reboot produced a popup saying the BIOS update was success.The BIOS version did not update as confirmed in both windows query and boot menu.

I then did this manually with the windows executable, which rebooted, offered no such popup or error messages, and did not update the BIOS.

I then downloaded the .bio for both, and did a manual F7 install in the boot menu, same result, as well as attempt to boot from flash drive, again same result.

 

I'm out of ideas. I have been having additional Windows update issues for some time, in case that helps form a possible constellation of issues, but will spare you the prose for now.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

Nuc 7i5bnh Why no Audio 24bit/192khz possible with newer Graphicdriver-Packages

Hello

I know there are some Threads with this Questions/Problems already, but:

No One from Intel says/writes why the Audiosetting 24bit/192khz is not implemented, (or was removed) as it was in the Audiodriver 6.16 !!!

With the newer Drivers there is no Option to go to this setting in the Windows-Audio Options.

Highest Value is 24bit/176khz.

 

And Please don´t tell me that the Nuc 7i5bnh has no possibility to go at 24bit/192khz, it is simply wrong !

 

I had it running with this setting, and, shame on me, i tried the newest Graphics Driver where i thought maybe the Intel-Guys waked up and

made a Audiodriver that is cappable to get all out of this Box, but NOOO, its gone !

I don´t care about the newest Graphic-Standard,HDR,10bit blah blah...

Roll back to the Audiodriver 6.16 is not possible, as Windows says that this Driver is not the right Driver for this Device.(what simply is not true,

as i had it running with the Version 6.16).

I use this Box maybe 30% for Videoplayback with VLC , 20% Internet,the Rest for Audioplaying with foobar over Pioneer-AVR and PanasonicUHD-TV

 

So, long Text but simple Question:

 

When will the Audiosetting 24bit/192khz implemented ?

Loud noise out of speakers

I use a BT receiver to play musik over my system. Since I use this NUC a very loud noise comes out of the speaker if:

 

1. choosing next title into player

2. drag and drop new music into player

3. Any input over Keyboard (this is new after Win 1803 was installed today)

4. It never happened so far if Audiolevel was zero but after upgrade to 1803 it happens even if Audiolevel is zero.

 

Point 1 and 2 happens from time to time and apears not constantly. (Win 1703)

Point 3 happen all the time now. A speaker has crashed today because of that really loud but short noise. (Win 1803)

 

What did I do?

Changing BT receiver and use differend players. But it happens with VLC, MS Mediaplayer and Cyberlink Player (all new versions)

 

So it means up to now cannot use this NUC für playing music.

NUC6i7KYK - WebGL errors in Chrome

For almost a year, I have occasionally (daily) had one and/or two error messages in Chrome: "Rats! WebGL hit  snag   Ignore   Reload"  and/or  "We're sorry, but an error has occurred. Please reload the page.   Reload now.  Learn more."  For many months, I have expected these errors to disappear with an updating of the Intel NUC graphics driver, or Chrome. But this has not happened.  Does anyone else suffer this on their NUC?  Any explanation or solution please?  My well-maintained NUC runs W10 and no obscure software.


Patriot SCORCH M.2 in Intel NUC7i3BNH after on/off does not boot

Hello,

we have Patriot Scorch M.2 128GB in PC Intel NUC7i3BNH. After we switch off the computer and unplug power cord then the bios does not find the Patriot M.2. We have to do some change in BIOS and then bios find the disk.

We tried two last BIOS but no change.

Do you have some ideas?

Optane 800P Support

While all the review Hades Canyon NUC's appear to be loaded with a 118GB Optane 800P plus "another" M.2 drive, in all cases the Optane drive is the boot drive.

 

My plan is to run VMWare Workstation on my new NUC with a number of VM's that I use for demos in various configurations. Three of my VM's love to run with an Optane Cache in operation. I was hoping that I could install a cheapish 2TB M.2 SATA SSD as my primary drive and run a 118GB Optane 800P as my secondary drive as a pure cache drive (like I have done on larger desktops). To do this, I will need to run the latest version of Intel RST. The problem is that I'm not sure if the NUC is a qualified platform for RST v16.0.2.1086. Is anybody here able to confirm this configuration?

Does the TB3 port of NUC7ixBNH supports powering from it?

Hi there,

I got a NUC7i5BNH which I like very much so far. It has a TB3 port which is connected to my Lenovo Monitor via a USB-C cable. (The monitor supports USB-C video input.)

Just wonder why my NUC could not be powered via the TB/USB-C port ultimately by the monitor? If so, I could get rid of the power cable of NUC and just use the power from the monitor!

I read many comments from other people use the same monitor, saying that their Macbook Pro or other windows laptops could get powered/charged via the TB3/USB-C port.

Bluetooth vanishes until I power cycle

I have an NUC7I7BNH running Windows 10 and regularly (once or twice a day) all of my Bluetooth connected devices will stop working.

 

I check the Bluetooth settings in Windows and it doesn't even see a Bluetooth device installed.  Restarting does not fix this.  Powering the system down for a minute or two will usually resolve the situation.

 

  • Bluetooth is enabled in the BIOS.
  • The BIOS is up-to-date.
  • I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers (using the official Intel drivers).

 

When the device is detected, the Intel Driver Update software shows that its at the latest version. 

 

When the device is not detected (it does not show up in system devices at all), the Intel Driver Update still says its the latest version, but it says the current version is "Unknown" and the devices name is "Unknown"
