Nuc 7i5bnh Why no Audio 24bit/192khz possible with newer Graphicdriver-Packages

Hello

I know there are some Threads with this Questions/Problems already, but:

No One from Intel says/writes why the Audiosetting 24bit/192khz is not implemented, (or was removed) as it was in the Audiodriver 6.16 !!!

With the newer Drivers there is no Option to go to this setting in the Windows-Audio Options.

Highest Value is 24bit/176khz.

And Please don´t tell me that the Nuc 7i5bnh has no possibility to go at 24bit/192khz, it is simply wrong !

I had it running with this setting, and, shame on me, i tried the newest Graphics Driver where i thought maybe the Intel-Guys waked up and

made a Audiodriver that is cappable to get all out of this Box, but NOOO, its gone !

I don´t care about the newest Graphic-Standard,HDR,10bit blah blah...

Roll back to the Audiodriver 6.16 is not possible, as Windows says that this Driver is not the right Driver for this Device.(what simply is not true,

as i had it running with the Version 6.16).

I use this Box maybe 30% for Videoplayback with VLC , 20% Internet, the Rest for Audioplaying with foobar over Pioneer-AVR and PanasonicUHD-TV

So, long Text but simple Question:

When will the Audiosetting 24bit/192khz implemented ?

bluetooth disapeared from windows10 after driver update

My computer is a NUC5i3RYH, windows10 64bits.

The Bluetooth worked fine until now.

I installed the new version of bluetooth driver : bt_win10_64_20.30.0.exe

Bluetooth disappeared from Windows10

The Windows “Bluetooth troubleshooting” diagnostic mentions : “Bluetooth is not available on that computer. Try an external board for this functionality”

Do you plan an update of the Bluetooth driver to fix that problem ?

NUC7CJYH with Ubuntu as TV-Box

I build a TV-Box with a NUC7CJYH.

Here is how I did it:

Install 4 or 8GB RAM into the NUC7CJYH. DDR4-2400 (PC4-19200) CL17 SODIMM 260 pin.

Install a 2.5" SSD (128GB is ok) into NUC7CJYH. (not M.2!)

Download Ubuntu 17.10 and put it on an SD-CARD.

Boot the NUC from the SD-Card and install Ubuntu.

Install Linux-Kernel 4.16 from /~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.16 to have Wifi support.

Install libasound2-plugins-extra for AC3.

Install pavucontrol for sound control.

Install gstreamer multimedia codecs.

Install gnome-color-manager for ICC color profiles.

Install Kodi.

If you have a DTS or AC3-capable receiver, get a toslink (sp/dif) cable with a 3.5mm jack on one end.

In pavucontrol, set the output to Digital Stereo (IEC958) + Analog stereo input.

In kodi settings go to audio and set the output device to IEC958.

Allow passthru and AC3 encoding and AC3 capable receiver.

For more fun, buy a MX3 air mouse as a remote control.

Note: if you want to watch 4k movies, you should buy the NUC7PJYH, it has more cores.

Radeon RX Vega M GH Thermal Throttling at 65c

I've tried everything that I can think of to resolve GPU thermal throttling that I'm observing at 65c with no luck. I first performed a clean install of the graphics drivers, then I reset the BIOS, then I resorted to a full OS reinstall, nothing helped. The GPU is most certainly thermal throttling and can't maintain it's core clock at 1190 Mhz, any benchmark or game that I run will progressively run slower within a short period of time after starting it. It fails a Fire Strike Stress Test with a 93% with the fans turned up. I also tried manually setting the max temperature to 80c in WattMan. I don't understand what's happening here.

Has anyone else seen something similar with their new NUC8i7HVK?

I'm using the following.

BIOS: 0037

Graphics Driver: 2048

Windows 10 Home Version: 1803

NUC8i7HVK faulty usb-c video drivers

I've setup my hades canyon nuc (NUC8i7HVK) with all the latest drivers and bios and the performance of my monitors when driven by the thunderbolt/usb-c output is awful. The monitors have a native resolution of 2650x1440, but the NUC will only drive them at 2048x1080. Using the mini-display ports doesn't fair any better. In both cases the rendering lag is 300ms - 2 seconds depending on the task.

Also, the time to negotiate the connection takes 4-10 seconds (if it even displays at all).

The monitors work perfectly and instantly when plugged into the usb-c on my macbook pro.

Unable to use three 4K screens (HDMI 2.0 issues)

$

According to the support page "Setting Up Multiple Displays for the Intel® NUC", the NUC6i7KYK should be able to support three 4K screens.

I'm using Ubuntu 18.04 running Linux kernel 4.15.0-20

I'm using three LG 27UD68P-B screens (With "Super Resolution+" and "HDMI UHD Deep Color" enabled):

  1. Using the USB-C output » Displayport
  2. Using the miniDP » Displayport
  3. And the last one using a HDMI 2.0 cable from the HDMI output » HDMI input

As soon as I attach the HDMI cable things start going wrong, but each environment goes wrong a bit differently:

  • In GDM3 (the login manager) All 3 screens actually work! At 60Hz even. And I get no jitter or image corruptions.
  • When logging into Gnome Shell, only the HDMI screen will work, dragging any window will cause some mosaïque-like corruption (video below).
  • Gnome Shell using Wayland just refuses to open.
  • The Ubuntu MATE desktop interface will just mirror all 3 displays, attempting to change this will cause all 3 screens to be garbled.
  • Even using the HDMI screen at a LOWER resolution (like regular 1080p) will cause the mosaïque issue.

So how can I solve this?

NUC 4K HDR HDMI 2.0a HDCP2.2 OUTPUT ?

HI Guys,

I've been desperately trying to get some concrete information on this topic. It seems almost impossible to find someone who can actually tell you whether it is possible or not?

I wish to get a NUC for which one of its main uses will be local, downloaded, movie playback. I would like to be able to download 4k movies with dolby atoms sound and HDR10 colour.

I use my xbox for Netflix etc so this is for downloaded movies.

I am connecting via HDMI to a Denon 4K HDR Atmos receiver.

Has anybody here had any experience with this and if so which NUC are you using?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

Intel NUC7I7DNBE Pin-outs

Hi.

We've just this moment received our NUC7i7DNBE barebones PCB from our supplier for us to evaluate for use in our product, but we've received no other documentation along with it.

Is there somewhere we can download the pinout of all the additional connectors on board, and a description of each and every connector? The product brief only shows a small number of ports, but with no pin-out.

Many thanks

When I shut down nuc normally, its usb interfaces have no current, which is correct. However, when I have my NUC  forced shutdown, its usb interfaces are still powered on.

Windows 7 on NUC6CAYH and similar.

Although Intel has chosen not to provide official drivers for Windows 7 for the NUC6CAYH there is anecdotal information on the internet that all hardware can be made to work with no issues left in Device Manager. Apparently all drivers needed exist, it's just that they are not (yet) listed comprehensively and (made) available to the owners of the NUC6CAYH.

I can only guess to the reasons for this choice. Maybe Intel felt getting all the drivers WHQL certified by Microsoft was too... ??? for an OS getting near to the end of its official support?

Personally I'd be willing to settle for (some) non-WHQL drivers. As long as they work. Surely Intel has enough people in its employ with more than enough experience in making or assembling drivers that offering a complete set of drivers isn't too much of a problem. Maybe mention that prolonged support for these drivers cannot be guaranteed for the above reason. I think I wouldn't be the only one who'd appreciate being allowed our own free choice of which (still under active or "extended" support by Microsoft) Windows version we'd prefer to use. I'm also not the only one with reservations regarding Windows 10.

Please don't engage in a "Why not Windows 10?" discussion. It's off-topic here. This is about getting Windows 7 to work. There are enough other places for such a discussion.

I've gotten quite far finding working drivers. It's just that the reports about getting it all to work are a tad incomplete and I'm still left with a few issues in Device Manager.

The initial problem to get Windows 7 installed on this device with only USB 3 ports can  be solved with the "ASRock Win 7 USB Patcher" with which an installation medium can be made that supports USB 3, which Windows 7 doesn't support natively. After the installation the most important drivers can be used from sources like ASUS, Dell, Lenovo and Intel itself too. If there is enough interest I can give some additional information and links.

At the moment I have a few issues left and I hope people can point me to the right drivers to get these last few parts of the hardware to function properly.

In the "Other Devices" section are 4 items left with (!).

PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5AAC&SUBSYS_20678086&REV_0B

I understand this to be the: "Intel(R) Serial IO I2C Host Controller".

PCI Simple Communications Controller

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5A9A&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_0B

I understand this to be the: "Intel(R) Trusted Execution Engine Interface"

Unknown Device

ACPI\INT3452

Unknown Device

ACPI\MSFT0101

Apparently both belonging to the "Advanced Configuration and Power Interface".

In the "System Devices" section are 3 items left with (!).

Intel(R) Atom(TM)/Celeron(R)/Pentium(R) Processor SPI Controller (x3)

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5AC2&SUBSYS_20678086&REV_0B

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5AC4&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_0B

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5AC6&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_0B

And in the "Network Adapters" section there is one (!).

Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168

This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.

Somewhat unexpected. I installed drivers for this. I thought things like interrupt sharing were resolved quite some time ago. I hope and kind of expect this will be resolved by the installation of one of the still missing drivers that will take care of this.

This forum seems the most logical place to address this issue. Hopefully this community can offer some solutions. A complete list of working drivers would be nice. Getting Intel to make these available on their site would be even nicer.

Thanks in advance all.

NUC6i7KYK BIOS 54

Hello,

Does anyone know what changed?  The release notes show no update to the sub-system firmware revisions, but show:

   "BIOS functionality enhancements."

as the only noted change.

Since loading this BIOS version 54, I hear my fan running more often.  Did Intel modify the fan tables or thermal settings?

Thanks

NUC7i5BNK no video after a failed BIOS update

$

I updated the bios from Win10 (I ran the official update utility), the update failed (unfortunately I forgot the failure code) and after restart there is no video (I tried 2 monitors). I tried the method BIOS Recovery Update Instructions for Intel® NUC with the BIOS security jumper removed (since there is no video the other method is a bit difficult) several times but it didn't work. In fact, when I turn the NUC on with the jumper removed (and with a usb memory stick inserted), all the diodes on the front panel go black (I think it was not like that the first time I tried, but now it's like this); the NUC still gets hot after some time, but I have no idea whether it does anything - certainly the video didn't come back. When I put the jumper back, the diodes turn blue after I start the NUC - but that's the only output I can get.
