NUC7i7DHNE vs CPU SPECS - An HDMI Question?

$
0
0

According to Intel Stats:

The NUC7i7DHNE  has this output

Intel® NUC Kit NUC7i7DNHE Product Specifications

Dual HDMI 2.0a, 4-lane eDP 1.4

But the ARK for the i7-8650U CPU has this contradictory spec

Max Resolution (HDMI 1.4)‡ 4096x2304@24Hz

Intel® Core™ i7-8650U Processor (8M Cache, up to 4.20 GHz) Product Specifications

The Ark makes no mention of HDMI 2.0a.

So how does the NUC have HDMI 2.0a when the CPU itself only allows HDMI 1.4?

How is the HDMI output greater (60Hz) on the computer than HDMI on the CPU (24Hz)?

Does the NUC7i7DHNE output 4K at 60Hz or 24Hz?   Have you merely modifed the DP
capacity of the CPU to go into the HDMI port?

Is the output of the HDMI  4K@60Hz?

Finally, if it is higher output, can it be back compatibility run by cable to an older monitor?

Thanks!

Switching Sources on AV Receiver and NUC7CJYH

I have a new NUC7CJYH installed with Windows 10 that is having issues with my AV Receiver. Whenever I switch between different sources, the NUC7CJYH will cut-out (no video AND no audio). I have to either physically unplug and re-plug the HDMI cable, or restart the NUC. I have tried reinstalling the latest graphics driver, disabling ARC and CEC on both the TV and the AV Receiver. Please note that I can switch seamlessly between other sources - I can switch between my UHD Blu-ray player and Nvidia Shield TV. I have also swapped sources and different HDMI connections by switching around the HDMI cables between the NUC and other devices. I also updated the NUC BIOS as well. There's no firmware update for the AV Receiver. See below for models/specs:

- AV Receiver: Denon AVR-S530BT

- TV: Vizio P65-F1

- Other devices working with the AV Receiver: UHD Blu-ray player and Nvidia Shield TV

Any help would be appreciated!

NUC8i7HVK - No Undervolting Enabled

I recently bought NUC8i7HVK and the CPU runs really hot.

I've disabled Turbo Boost for now but this is no solution in the longer term.

My Question: Why aren't we allowed to undervolt CPU Vcore?

Can you please fix this with a bios update?

LED issues

I've got problems with the LED's not turning off after (what I think is a) Windows 10 Pro Auto Sleep feature, its not all LED's either, Front LED 1 and 2 works as expected, but the rest (Power Button, Skull, Eyes and Front LED 3) gets stuck in the last configured state after this happens, after installing the latest BIOS, with some hassle by underclocking the RAM, an hard power reset (unplugging the power) seems to solve this issue and its also the only thing that solves it, even though it's pretty annoying when it happens. Does anyone else have this? The Windows LED configure tool think it changes the LED's but nothing happens with the mentioned LED's, changing Front LED 1 & 2 works however. Even if I try to sleep, hibernate or shut down the device completely from Windows the LED's are still on after this happens.

Also, is is normal that the chassis seems to have a small gap that makes the led create a stripe of light underneath the unit like this?

I try to start an embedded system and don't want to power the NUC over the jack. When I power with the jack, I have the 5V and 19V on the auxiliary connector on pin 1 and 4. But I can not power the NUC when I connect 12V or 19V to the auxiliary connector.

The NUC remains off and I do not know what the problem is... according to the manual it shoul work?!

Intel NUC7i3DNH - COM port not working?

Hello, we have two of these NUCs. We placed board from the first one to Akasa passive case A-NUC39-M1B (Plato X7D). This case comes with COM port cable (see attachment). COM is enabled in BIOS (bios v40) and visible as COM1 in Windows 10 1703. But no communication goes through. We checked that Akasa cable with tester (acoustic pin tester) and cable is OK.  We then tried second board and still no luck - it's the same. Intel, can you check it is working on your test units, please? It seems unlikely to me that we got bad luck wit two boards.

8i7HVK - rear 3.5mm audio port 'noisy' when Nuc under load, front fine

I've had a nuc 8i7HVK Hades Canyon nuc for a few weeks - and just got some new speakers which I plugged into the rear 3.5mm audio jack.

When the nuc isn't under load the speakers play music without noise (hissing / interference) fine. But when I play a game (Civilization 6), and the nuc is under load - all sorts of audio interference comes out of  the speakers.

When I move the audio plug to the front 3.5mm jack - it works perfectly and the noise is gone.

Is this a design flaw? How can I fix this?

Thanks

bluetooth disapeared from windows10 after driver update

My computer is a NUC5i3RYH, windows10 64bits.

The Bluetooth worked fine until now.

I installed the new version of bluetooth driver : bt_win10_64_20.30.0.exe

Bluetooth disappeared from Windows10

The Windows “Bluetooth troubleshooting” diagnostic mentions : “Bluetooth is not available on that computer. Try an external board for this functionality”

Do you plan an update of the Bluetooth driver to fix that problem ?

Hello,

I am looking for some assistance to the driver crashing constantly for the AMD RX Vega M. I have the "GH" version of this NUC and have had 6 driver crashes since connecting it on 5/14 to do some light gaming and even watch a few youtube videos.

Attached is one of the events. I did a scan for corrupted files, nothing came back. Integrity scans came back clean as well. Looking for some additional assistance on resolving the issue. All drivers are updated and downloaded per the Intel site. Crash details are below.

Using a RC6 ir remote to power on NUC7i3BNK

Hi, in one of the posts here i saw that a RC6 ir remote can be used to power on (and off) a NUC. RC6 remotes are easy to find and it would be great to be able to use it as a remote for my NUC7i3BNK. How do these devices sync with eachother? And i saw something about settings in BIOS?

8i7HVK, Chrome window intermittently black on scrolling, Visual studio font disappearing

When using Chrome (Version 66.0.3359.18) in Windows 10 1803 (OS build 17134.81) - various web pages turn black while I'm scrolling the page - the tabs at the top also disappear sometimes.

I've never seen this on any other computer, and Firefox doesn't seem to be affected.

Can you confirm what the latest graphic driver is - is it listed on your 8i7HVK download page?

Downloads for Intel® NUC Kit with 8th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors

Is that the correct page to get the latest video & other drivers?

(I had someone recommend a newer audio driver than is listed there - which makes me question it).

I have this video driver:

GFX_Radeon_Win10_64_23.20.792.2048

In Visual Studio the font sometimes goes black - both in the Solution Explorer and in the main code window.

Thanks.

Mouse cursor disappears

Several months ago, my cursor (not the pointer) began disappearing whenever I was typing in multiple applications, i.e. MS Office (Word, Outlook & Excel), this website, browsing bars on multiple Internet browsers), requiring that I left-click the mouse to restore the cursor.

I believe I can now isolate this issue to the NUC, and not Windows, Logitech or MS Office software.

Is anyone else with a similarly configured NUC experiencing this issue?  All advice welcome.  I will add that Logitech technical support did mention that they had received this issue from others and they thought that it may be a Windows or Office issue, but I can find nothing on Microsoft's board about this issue with a cursory (NPI) search.

Thanks.

I am using a Logitech K350 wireless keyboard & M510 mouse with the Unifying connector and current software Logitech - SetPoint version 6.67.83 (64-bit)This issue does not occur on my Samsung laptop when using the same keyboard, mouse and connector. Note that I have moved the Unifying Connector amongst the USB ports on the NUC.

I believe Windows 10HP 64-bit is up to date,  -

Hotfixes from Microsoft Update (agent version 10.0.17134.48) install automatically.

Last install: 5/28/2018 7:56:30 AM, check: 5/28/2018 7:56:15 AM.

NOTE: (KB4100403) is now being downloaded and installed, with a restart required.  I will do this now and if this issue magically disappears will update this.  It will probably not disappear...

I am fairly certain my NUC BIOS is up to date, although I haven't checked in about a year, so if someone is aware that Intel released anything new in the past few months, please let me know and I'll update it. My current BIOS is WYLPT10H.86A.0045.2017.0302.2108 (installed 3/2/2017)

MeshCommander 0.6.3 remote desktop nuc with w7 professional x64bits

Hi ...

I have installed Mesh commander 0.6.3 it on a computer with windows 7 since a mini pcs calling system with intel v10 has been implemented in my workplace.

Currently, I have added more than 60 mini-pcs.
They are brand plexus with intel  v10 ...
But 9 of them have been installed with professsional windows7 and when I try to access them with remote desktop it gives me timeout ...

However, about 58 computers with the same hardware but with the fedora linux distribution, I can access by remote control without problems and restart them and interact with the desktop ...

I would have to configure some parameter in the mesh commander or in the minipcs with w7 professional to be able to access by remote control and interact in the desktop as with the linux (fedora)? ....

A thousand thanks...
