Hey guys,
I've got a couple of media centres and my sky box plugged into a 5 way HDMI switch. All work fine except for the intel NUC DN2820FYKH.
As soon as I switch away to another input device and switch back, it won't pick it up the signal again. The other windows 8.1 PC (for games) does not have this issue and neither does the sky box.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Max
Hello fellow NUC users,
I have the Intel NUC BOXD54250WYKH1 that I bought through Amazon in July. It works pretty perfectly except for one incredibly irritating issue I have.
When watching videos, about 1 to 2 times every 30 minutes the sound will go out for 5-7 seconds then come back in. I have tried the following to fix it:
Please help! A few more details:
Feel free to ask any other questions if I missed anything. I'm highly considering returning it and getting a new one but if I could fix this then I'd prefer not to have to rebuild another computer. Thanks!
Hello,
I have two problems since I bought my nuc.
I use it with an external USB 3.0 western digital elements 1To disk.
I installed latest Nuc versions software : bios version 28, USB 3.0 controller version 3.0.0.33, up to date windows 7 64 bits,
First problem :
When I switch on NUC with hard disk plugged in : it is not detected (when the NUC boots, the HD led remains on and not blink, and my disk is not available in windows. If I unplug and plug it again, it's still not detected. If I plug an USB 2 key it's OK).
If I restart nuc (with windows menu at the login page) then at the "INTEL NUC" boot screen, led on hard disk blinks and it's now detected an available in windows.
So I always have to switch on and restart my NUC to use my HDD.
I uninstalled USB 3.0 controller : no more problem at boot. My HDD is available just after boot without restarting windows.
So It is not a material failure but probably a driver issue.
This problem doesn't occur with bios version #22.
Second more annoying problem :
Randomly, NUC losses connection with HD. Not only after a sleeping time.
I tried several bios versions, several USB 3.0 controller versions (2.x, 3.x), with no intel USB 3.0 controller (then with default microsoft usb driver I suppose) : the same problem occurs.
I have to unplug and plug the HDD again to see it again.
What can I do ?
I have no more ideas to test...
The new Windows 7 USB3.0 drivers are great.
After installing and reboot, no one of the 3 USB ports will work, they are dead.
Under safety mode and in the bios, everything will work. Drivers unistalled, every port will run, but the front-usb not as a 3.0.
Intel, do your homework, FAST.
I just had the unpleasant experience of finding out that my new NUC doesnt support Win7. Well I hate Windows8, I cannot stand the massive change the UI underwent.
So, Intel, will ye be releasing Win7 drivers for this NUC?
Hello,
I have my NUC connected to my audio receiver through the analog port on the front. But when I move my mouse (or do anything like moving a window) there is a noise coming from the speakers. There is also a (slightly less noticeable) noise when idle.
I thought this might have to do with a grounding issue: I tried to connect the NUC to different wall sockets (did the same with my receiver) but with no luck. The buzzing continues. They're both in the same grounded wall socket.
Very frustrating. I only have the NUC for three days now, and it seems to be a perfect match, unless for the sound issues. I hope there's a fix because this is not acceptable for me.
I'm running latest bios / drivers on Windows 8.1 pro x64.
I hope someone has suggestions on what to do. Thanks!
Any news on the new DN2830FYKH model, which is going to replace DN2820FYKH and contain a Celeron N2830 CPU, which has the benefit of features like Quick Sync Video and a bit faster clock speed.

Would love to hear some dates on when are going to see DN2830FYKH.
Hello
I am trying to change the boot across a number of de3815tykhe from within linux, usually I can run efibootmgr which brings up a list of boot options that can be adjusted in the EFI NVRAM.
When running on either de3815tykhe or dn2820fykh there is no output to the command. I'm using the latest BIOS 034 and 040, I've confirmed I am definitely in EFI mode and Legacy mode is disabled.
I've tried with Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 14.10 and Debian Jessie Beta 2, using efibootmgr 0.7 and 0.9
I've tried with both EFI live and installed systems, I have successfully ran the command from the same EFI boot stick on a Lenovo laptop and received a long list of boot entries.
Any idea why the command doesn't seem to work on either of these NUCs?
Cheers
James
Hi Intel,
I have a handful of DN2820FYKH IntelNUC's distributed around town, running Linux (Ubuntu 14.04) and I'd like to perform updates to their bios-- without visiting their physical location.
From the OS, is it possible to perform a BIOS update?
From the OS, is it possible to update the settings of the BIOS?
Thank you,
Hello,
I have problems accessing in my D54250WYKH a setting "Processor cores" in BIOS 0028 under "Performance" tab.
If I click on the Cores link nothing happens on the right side where settings should "Processor cores" appear.
I see only this screen:
This one I cannot see, even when I press on Cores link.
Is this disabled in version 0028?
Thanks for the a answer.
Scratching my head here...usually pretty good at this driver thing.
Bought a NUC D34010WYK and got the entire zip file of drivers for my Windows 7 32bit Ultima OS.
Everything loaded in fine but I got one "unknown device" and when I run the Intel diagnostic tool it doesn't see any concern. Usually I would not be to concerned as everything seems to work but I also installed a Wifi card which is a Centrino Wireless-N 2230 and it's not working although the drivers appear to be installed. That Wireless-N 2230 card has bluetooth and it seemed if the NUC had bluetooth to begin with, can anyone confirm that?
Any ideas of what the missing device is and how to solve this issue if Intel's own system cannot decode the issue?
Hi everyone,
I have a NUC DN2820FYK and I'm having a problem getting into Setup (F2) when connected to HDMI TV. After pressing F2 the screen just goes black.I have tried a few different TVs and HDMI cables but no joy.
If I connect to a VGA monitor, via an HDMI-to-VGA converter, it works!?
I noticed that the text on the initial 'Intel NUC' screen where you select F2, F7 etc looks 'jagged' like a driver is not working properly or something like that.
Any help would be much appreciated.
After using load table command of Microsoft asl compiler from Windows Embedded 8, the NUC fails to boot into the OS.
How can I restore the firmware back to the original? I have already reset the CMOS, and reflashed, and then a bios recovery, using the latest bios from Intel downloads.
Intel Visual BIOS and UEFI shell are accessible, fails on loading the acpi.sys driver.
Thanks
Hello,
I intend to deploy a DE3815TYBE NUC and add a HDMI-CEC adapter using the custom solutions header (https://www.pulse-eight.com/store/products/117-internal-hdmi-cec-adapter.aspx)
According to the specificiations of the NUC, the adapter should work fine. However, that was also the case with the D54250WYKH and the D34010WYK. Unfortunately, end-users experienced that the CSH could not maintain the specified 3.3v necessary for the adapter to work, rendering it completely useless.

Do you have any information on if the DE3815TYBE 'suffers' from the same flaw?
Thanks in advance,
Bob
I can see that the Celeron "gray NUC" (DCCP847DYE) has drivers available for the x64 versions of Windows 8 and 7. But has anyone here had luck running Windows Server 2012 or 2008R2 on it? (or perhaps on the Core i3 versions?)
I plan to buy a NUC and use it as a low-power 24/7 home server. I am not looking for whether or not it has official support for the server OSes (it doesn't), but just if anyone managed to get Server 2008R2 or 2012 installed anyway without too much trouble, either with built-in drivers or using the ones for Windows 7/8 x64.
I have just bought a DN2820FYKH and i can not get it to boot into the bios or anything.
I have tried four different TV's and 4 different monitors as well as 6 different HDMI cables.
I have tried plugging headphones into the audio socket and not heard any beeps.
I have tried removing the jumper and updating the bios but still no go.
I have tried all different combinations of taking out ram, hdd, keyboard and mouse and nothing.
lights come on, flash drive has power but no activity.
Followed instructions to the t to start.
Is it bricked or is there some trick i am missing.
Thanks
Stuart
Purchased recommended memory kit from Crucial. Each SODIMM works well if installed by itself in the upper slot, but fails boot-up RAM check if installed in the lower slot, either alone or with the matching SODIMM installed in the upper slot. (Two different kits were tested, with the same results.)
Set up the NUC with a Wireless & BT Intel 7260AC, Msata Drive, and 4GB RAM single stick. Installed OpenELEC and XBMC. Everything ran perfect for a week.
Now I cannot connect to my WIFI router. I cannot see the Wireless card in the BIOS at all. I have the latest BIOS installed (25). i reset my BIOS to default and that did not help. The NUC works fine with a LAN Cable installed to the router. Other wireless devices still work with the router with wireless. I re-installed the MSata and the wireless card and that did not work. I dont think this is an OS issue because I cant even find it the wireless card in the BIOS at all.
It worked one day and not the next. There were no known changes or catalyst for the wireless card to stop working.
Any suggestions Intel folks?
Thanks,
Brian
