Poor volume levels from N2820 running Windows 7?

So I mentioned this on another thread in relation to DTS-HD on the same platform, but given that its a different feature set I thought I would post a seperate thread.

Running the latest (or any drivers I can find for that matter) and Windows 7 (64bit) there doesnt appear to be any Sound Enhancement options for this unit. The lack of Loudness Equalization is killing me in my environment. I have to turn my receiver up to 50 to hear the output from this device, and turn the receiver back down to 25 all of my other connected devices (another media center, a satellite system and a games console). Every machine I have ever installed Windows 7 on (hundreds of different machine models) has had this option available via the driver.

My other media center (same version of windows, different platform vendor) is connected to the same receiver in exactly the same manner, and has the options present, so its nothing to do with the capabilities of the receiver. Can anyone suggest why this is the case with the NUC? The sound output is so poor and so out of line with all my other devices that I am considering returning it under RMA as faulty / not fit for purpose.

Is this a driver issue? I have heard others say that all audio options work fine under OpenELEC (DTS-HD etc), so wondering if this is something that can be fixed with a better driver or not.

Thanks in advance
