Hello - I've a Sony VAIO VGN-NW240F laptop. The current CPU is a T6600, clocked at 2.2 GHz.
The Sony has an FSB of 800 MHz, and no BIOS update has ever been released. However, I'd like to see what is the maximum / fastest Intel CPU I can swap out the current one for.
Running CPU-Z I get that the chipset is GM45/GM47 and the socket P (478 pins). Also found this list http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/CPUs/Intel/Core_2_Duo_Mobile/T9500_%28Socket_P%29.html
Will *only* the 800 MHz CPUs work?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
