Per the request of Intel support, I'm making a separate thread for this, originally discussed here.

Re: Skull Canyon (NUC6I7KYK) - Random Reboot.

I've tried the following;

1. Updating my BIOS (v. 42).

2. Updating the firmware of my Samsung 950 Pro to the latest version.

3. Resetting my BIOS settings to default.

4. Switching the power profile in Windows 10 to maximum performance.

5. Testing my memory with Memtest86.

6. Monitored the temperature of the CPU which goes up to about 80 degrees under load.

7. I've confirmed my ram is running at 2133MHz

As stated above, I'm using the following;

1. G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 32GB (2 x 16G) 260-Pin DDR4 SO-DIMM DDR4 2133 (PC4 17000) Laptop Memory Model F4-2133C15D-32GRS

2. SAMSUNG 950 PRO 256GB M.2 SSD.

NUC5i5RYK boots very slowly

I am using a NUC5i5RYK with 16 gb of Crucial ram and 250 gb Samsung SSD, running linux/Mint 18.0 with Cinnamon 3.07.  It used to boot in about 8 seconds, but now, after upgrading the BIOS to the latest version (359), it spends about 8 seconds between showing the INTEL NUC logo and the BIOS menu (f2... f7... etc), and the rest of the boot process is much slower as well. I checked all the things I know how to check, but could not find the culprit.

systemd-analyze produces the following output:

18.8 sec (firmware), 5.5 sec (loader) 1.9 sec (kernel) 8 sec (userspace). Total: 34.5 seconds.

Any ideas?

D54250WYKH1 2.5" HDD Update Issue (PXE-E61 Error)

I've had my D54250WYKH1 for almost three years now without issue until I tried to upgrade the 2.5" drive recently.

Current configuration

OS:     Win 10 (upgraded from Win 7 during the free upgrade period)

BIOS:     WYLPT10H.86A, Ver.0042 (most recent BIOS)

RAM:     2 x Patriot 4GB DDR3 (1.35V)

mSATA:     Plextor M6M 128GB => OS drive

2.5":     Seagate Momentus 500GB 5400RPM => storage drive (no programs, hidden files, etc.)

I tried to upgrade to a 2.5" 1TB HGST, but I get the PXE-E61 error.

I've also tried the following:

- no 2.5" drive installed (only mSATA) => PXE-E61 error

- Disconnect and reconnect mSATA drive (no 2.5") => PXE-E61 error

- Restore BIOS to default (mSATA only) => PXE-E61 error

- Reconnect old 2.5" 500GB drive with mSATA => boots normally and operates without issue

- Connect new 2.5" 1TB drive with mSATA =>PXE-E61 error

Any/all ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated

What are the recommended IGD Aperture Size and IGD Min Memory for Skull Canyon with either 16 or 32 GB Memory?

What are those values for and when should they be adjusted.  I am using 3 screens at 1080p settings but may upgrade to 4k monitors.

Thanks,

Skull Canyon and Razer Core (Error 12)

Good afternoon, Intel Forums. I was kicked over here by Razer after some attempts at troubleshooting an issue between the Intel NUC6I7KYK (Skull Canyon) and the Razer Core. I have seen on these forums that some people have successfully managed to connect the two, and was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction.

So I attached a razer core to my nuc via the TB3 connection. I am running Windows 7. The TB firmware is version 18 (had to update from 16), and I am using the latest TB drivers listed on the NUC6I7KYK product page. I have both the latest Intel HD Graphics drivers, and the latest NVidia drivers, installed. The NUC can see and work with the razer core's external features (like the USB ports), but when I try to use the graphics card (GeForce GTX 760), in Device Manager it shows up as having error code 12, or, "This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)".

I have attempted uninstalling and reinstalling all appropriate drivers (TB/HD Graphics/NVidia Graphics), I have the latest BIOS for the NUC now, and I have tried uninstalling the Iris Pro 580 from Device Manager and just leaving the GTX. The Core is attached to my monitor by a DVI cable which is not receiving any output from the graphics card (confirming that it is not, in fact, getting initialized and used by Windows). Razer is telling me that it's a BIOS issue, but as I said, I am on the latest version.

Any advice on troubleshooting steps to take from here would be greatly appreciated.

Greetings.

I own an Intel® NUC Kit DN2820FYKH with ssd and 4 Gigs of Ram. I use win7 32bit with the latest drivers installed (and latest bios, as we speak 0055) from the download site.

I have a very "strange" prob.

When i put the nuc to sleep with this command rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState 0,1,0althought it works (nuc does sleep) when i use a network ip scanner app, the nuc seems to be active !!

No green lights are on (in ethernet) and i do wake it with wol or a keyboard movement.

Any ideas how to fix that? Maybe smth in bios??

NUC6i7KYK No 3D option from TV.

Hi there,

so after having many issues with my previous unit. i replaced my NUC6i7KYK with a new one.
Strange problem now - i have a digital Panasonic TV - 65" Inch. among other things the TV support 3D.

on the TV  - When i go to input "Hdmi 3" - (the nuc is connected on that HDMI port.) the TV option for 3D is grayed out. and i can't choose it.

If i will go to a different HDMI input - let's say my cable box on Input HDMI 2. then the 3D on TV - is not grayed out. and i am able to choose it.

the hardware should be fine - the Hdmi cables connected to nuc support 3D. and there are Draft 2.0.

i am using latest Drivers, and Bios.

Win 10 64bit - Fresh\Clean install.

Thank you all for your help.

display port vs HDMI

I'm expecting my first NUC NUC 6i3SYK today from Amazon (Black Friday yeah!).  I have 16GB DDR4 SODIMM 2133 RAM and 500GB M.2 SSD drive.  I purchased a mini Display Port to VGA cable to connect a monitor for initial setup.  I have the LibreElec OS on a USB stick for that first boot.  I also have the version 54 BIOS to compare to once I see the bios version already installed to see if it needs update.  I see most people using the HDMI for display and the mDisplayPort for 2nd monitor.  Can the mDisplayPort be used as primary monitor through the VGA converter cable?

Thanks.

BIOS 0054

Driver 19.20.3.4 (Oct. 31, 2016)

OS: Windows 10 64bit recently installed and fully updated

Connection: 50Mbs

From where the NUC currently is, my iPhone 6, my Android tablet and my former computer (iMac 2009) all download at 30/35 Mbs.

The NUC doesn't go faster than 20Mbs (5 Ghz) and a shocking 1Mbs (2.4 Ghz). It is a busy area, full of noises and whatnot, but certainly, at least in terms of sheer speed, the NUC is supposed to fare better?

Is there something I can do to improve the situation?

NUC's with VPRO

Exploring my existing base of INTEL NUCs.

None seem to have VPRO Processors.

I'm assuming (dangerous) that the processors can Not be replaced / upgraded to more specific processors that contain the VPRO technology.

If this is a NUC motherboard swap - which motherboards contain processors with VPRO and how will they maintain compatibility on installation

(physically and to an existing Installed OS drive set)?

I218-V Driver not working with nanoserver

Hi All !

My NUC (D54250WYKH) has a Intel I218-V Network chip on board. I tried to install a physical Windows Server 2016 NANOServer on this box and manually injected the latest driver (Version 21.0 in this case).

Even if the readme of the driver says it supports nanoserver, the device is not found. Installig a WIndows Server 2016 with GUI works, still the driver has to be added manually.

Would be great if the intel drivers would support autodetection so that newest technology can run on it.

Please see also my forum post on the nanoserver forum at microsoft here : Run nanoserver physical using non-self detected network adapter

Thanks for your suggestions / Roman

nuc6i7kyk No Graphics output over HDMI and DP: Bios not visible

Hi there,

we received a couple of nuc6i7kyk, for which I installed the memory (RAM) and an SSD drive. Two out of 7 units work fine. The remaining do not show any Intel NUC welcome screen neither over HDMI nor DP when the computer is switched on. After a minute or so, the computer starts power cycling. I thought it might me a memory compatibility issue, however 2 units are working perfectly. Any ideas?

Hi,

I love the Intel NUC but I hate that it doesn't support HDMI CEC.

Does anyone know if the skylake gen intel nuc with the 540 graphics chip will support HDMI CEC?
