Intel graphics driver for Skull Canyon needs update - see Skyrim SE issue

Hi,

as much as I was pleased wit the NUC on Civ 6. I must say we have a issue on in Skyrim Special Edition (october released remaster) the issue is the same as on HD 530 see video Intel HD Graphics 530 The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition (Remastered) Test - YouTube

While on the 4400 it work without this problem

Obviously a driver issue, which is sad as first off all the Skull Canyon is marketed as a gaming NUC, and let me tell you the frame rate is really playable even with high settings, but the shadows, gray flickering is killing it. Please not that even the latest driver Intel Iris/HD Graphics Driver 20.19.15.4539 Beta 64-bit

is not solving it, well I guess it now comes to how fast can Intel respond, and give a update, obviously its needed.

NUC6i7KYK remote power button

Good afternoon to everybody.

Does the NUC6i7KYK have the header connector/pins on the motherboard?

Since the NUC5i5RYK I used to make a remote power botton, to turn it on and off and to add an external HDD activity L.E.D.

My company is a sistem integrator so this function is fundamental for us.

On the 5i5RYK there are pins soldered on the mother-board for the header connector (see picture attached) and it is wonderful. On other models there is just a "hint" of the header connector, and we managed to make it work flawlessly,

BUT

on the 6i7KYK I have troubles finding them.

The NUC is a very suitable PC in the digital signage field, and the remote button to turn it on or off is crucial for a device like that.

Please tell me that Intel has not changed its mind about the versatility of its product.

Thank you in advance for your kind help, I will appreciate every answer.

restart fail with NUC 5CPYH

I'm working with NUC 5CPYH, with last bios version PYBSWCEL.86A.0056.2016.0901.1751.

I should use this machine in production in an always on enviroment (24 hours on each day), and for more stability I need of a midnight restart, but often the nuc fails to restart and hangs in a strange situation:

  • The screen is black (No Signal)
  • The power led is on.
  • As soon as I press the power button the system shutdown.
  • On the next power on there aren't errors in ths sys op.

I'm facing this error on Ubuntu 14.04/16.04 both in 32/64bit versions with all the NUC that I bought (20+).

For check the problem I have added in /etc/rc.local this code:

sleep 60 && reboot

and the system fails to restart after a random number of times.

Anyone else have found a solution for this?

blank screen after bios 43 update on D54250WYK (NUC). When I try BIOS recovery (3 sec power button) all I get is 3 beeps... HELP !!!!

Like I said in the title, I updated the bios on my NUC to the latest (43). Everything looked OK on screen... untill the reboot ! There, all I get is a blank screen.

I have waited several minutes, just to be sure nothing else was happenning. Then I tried switwhing it off, disconnecting it from the mains, etc. No dice.

I then tried the Bios recovery procedure (3sec on the power button) , but all I got was three beeps...

Next, I will try the procedure with the on-board jumper, but wanted to have some input from the community first.

Anybody had the same problem ?

Thank you.

Thunderbolt device not recognized through USB-C port

I am using a Nuc6i7kyk with Windows 10.

I have a Motu 828x audio interface that runs through Thunderbolt. The cable I am using is a Thunderbolt 2 cable and I have a Startech Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter to plug into the USB-C connection. Motu have tested a Startech adapter with the 828x and it works. They advised that I should be able to just plug it in and it should work.

I have updated the drivers for the NUC and made sure I have installed the latest Thunderbolt software but the audio interface is not being recognized.

Any help would be appreciated.

5i5MYBE - What size DC Power Jack do I Need?

mini-cloud-1-scaled.jpg

I won the Intel OSIC Big Bounties for Big Ideas contest in May and received my prize.  An Intel NUC Mini rack of 4X 5i5MYBE blades.  Unfortunately they didn't come in boxes, with power adapters, etc. and are standalone.  I need to know what size/where to get the DC Power jacks to power these blades without having to buy 4X 6 5W AC power adapters that I will just be cutting the connectors off of anyway.  You can refer to my project documentation here for details, but I just need 4 power jacks to send 19V power to these units from my PSU.

Thanks.

Hello,

I just bought a Intel NUC Kit NUC6i3SYH and installed Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS on it. Wake on LAN is enabled in UEFI and ethtool tells "Wake-on: g" but Wake on LAN simply doesn't work. Any idea?

NUCi67KYK - "No Intel(R) Adapters are present in this computer" error when installing Intel Network Adapter Driver for Windows 10 version 21.1

I attempted to install Intel Network Adapter Driver for Windows 10 version 21.1 (the latest version at this time) onto my NUCi67KYK, and the install of the driver would hang for 5 minutes, and then fail.  Due to this post, I installed Intel Network Adapter Driver for Windows 10 version 20.7.1 and the driver and wired ethernet connection works fine.  This is only a temporary solution, what happens when there is a network driver update we need to move to, but it doesn't work?  Why does this happen?  Can a fix be provided for the latest Intel Network Adapter Driver for Windows 10 for the NUCi67KYK so I'm not stuck with this old driver version?

Configuration:

NUC Kit NUC6i7KYK

16GB HyperX DDR4 2133 MHz SO-DIMM Memory Kit (2 x 8GB)

Samsung SAMZV6P512BW 512GB 960 PRO M.2 Internal SSD (quantity 2 installed)

Buying RAM for Intel NUC Skull Canyon

Hi,

I am buying a 8GB RAM for NUC Skull Canyon. What should I look for specifically? SO-DIMM?

I have a few options below:

1. Kingston 8GB 260-Pin DDR4 2133 SO-DIMM (PC4 17000) Laptop Memory(2144MHz)

2. Adata Premier DDR4 Notebook RAM | 2133Mhz | 8GB

3. Apacer 8GB DDR4 2133mhz Notebook Ram

Which one is better? Does it matter whether it is 2144MHz or 2133MHz? DD3 or DD4?

Is it important what company produce it - Kingston, Crucial, Adata P or Apacer?

Can I mix two 8GB RAMs together in NUC from different companies,, eg. 1x8GB Kingston and 1x8GB Adata P?

Thanks!

D34010WYK WOL problem

Hi everybody,

I have a problem with my NUC. In the visual BIOS, it says it's not connected in the left down corner. After a shutdown with windows 10, the network is not powered and I can't use WOL.

If I keep the power button for 5 seconds and turn off my NUC by thos way, the Lan is still connected and I can use WOL.

All drivers are up-to-date, any idea for solving my problem?

Intel BOXNUC6i7KYK1  with Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) DDR4-2400 SODIMM

Everything installed and worked fine…but after about 5 minutes, the NUC6i7KYK turns off then re-starts.  After it turns back on by itself, it asks to edit the BIOS.  Answering NO, the system re-boots and is stable with no issues.

Same result with Crucial 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) DDR4-2133 SODIMM, part #CT2K16G4SFD8213, DDR4 PC4-17000 • CL=15 • Dual Ranked • x8 based • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR4-2133 • 1.2V • 2048Meg x 64

Same thing happens with DDR4-2133 memory, which is completely compliant with the NUC6i7KYK memory specification.  The NUC6i7KYK shuts down after the first 5 minutes then restarts.

Please advise on how to get the Intel NUC6i7KYK to operate without the very annoying automatic restarts!

Thank you very much!

NUC6i7KYK will only boot from M.2 SSD if picked manually

I just setup a NUC6i7KYK with a Crucial 275G M.2 SSD. If I pick the drive manually (using F10), it boots without issue but if I let the system just do it's thing, I get "No bootable devices have been found". I've updated the BIOS to ver.42 but it's still not working. Any ideas?

My NUC 6i7RYH freezes when watching live video streamed from CNBC's website, and sometimes also YouTube. I cannot fix the problem - is there a fix?

Hi

I recently purchased a NUC 5i7RYH but when watching live streamed video from CNBC and also sometimes normal video on YouTube, the computer freezes and becomes totally unresponsive requiring me to power down and shut off and restart. Obviously very inconvenient. This appears an issue - is it WIndows 10 related (my operating system) or some other issue?

Thanks.  C

NUC6i5SYH intermittent HDMI sound problems

$

I have the NUC6i5SYH as an HTPC running Windows 10 with 21.20.16.4534 drivers which Windows auto-installed. Most of the time, everything works fine with audio and video going over HDMI to my Onkyo receiver, which plays the audio and relays the video to my Pioneer plasma. The NUC stays on the whole time, and I shut down the receiver and TV when I'm done

About one time in 10, though, when I turn on the system, the sound icon in Windows has a red x, and "Intel Display Audio" doesn't show up in "Playback devices". A reboot fixes it, so I think the problem is with the NUC, not the amp. I've tried uninstalling the drivers and letting Windows re-install them, but it doesn't seem to help. It's not a show-stopper, but it makes the system much less user-friendly for other people

Any tips would be much appreciated, thanks

NUC5i3RYH LAN Driver missing

Seems weird but I just noticed that the pc was using wireless instead of the hard wired lan port so I check networking and only the wireless is showing for adapters.

I look in device manager and the LAN is listed with the yellow triangle and no driver installed. I manually download it and it appears to install with no error but when I check it is like I never tried to do anything. The latest Intel automatic update utility finds no drivers at all available for my machine.

I'm on Win 8.1 Pro x64

Another oddity is no other wireless connections are showing up to connect to. It is connected to one of my ssid's but the others (including the neighbors) is not showing at all.

Any help would be appreciated.
