NUC7i7BNH – 100Hz Refresh Rate at Lower Resolutions

$

Hi,

My monitor is an ultrawide Samsung C34F791, capable of 3440x1440 at 100 Hz via HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2.

According to the specs, NUC7i7BNH is capable of outputting 4096x2304 at 60 Hz.

That’s great for 4K monitors! But what about higher refresh rates at lower resolutions?

- Does Iris Plus Graphics 650 support higher than 60 Hz refresh rate?

- Is HDMI 2.0 capable of 100 Hz refresh rate?

- Is Thunderbolt 3 (the USB-C port) capable of 100 Hz refresh rate?

Regards,

Erez.

NUC7i5BNH - No audio through HDMI (TV) in fullscreen for certain games

$

Hello,

I have an issue regarding audio on my new NUC.

First of all let me explain my setup:

I have 2 monitors: one is your common somewhat old PC monitor that connects to the NUC through a HDMI-to-DVI cable. The other monitor is a recent model LGTV which is connected directly through a HDMI cable. Since the NUC only has 1 HDMI port, I alternate between them depending on my needs.

The PC monitor doesn't have its own audio, I use speakers for sound. There are no issues with this setup.

The problem arises when I try to play certain games in fullscreen on my LGTV: the audio device manager will detect my TV and keep doing so when the game is started in window mode, however, when fullscreen is activated the TV will dissapear from the audio device manager. It will reappear after a second or two when you alt-tab to check the device manager.

Since this only happens to certain games, this should be a software issue.

Games that don't have this issue: Cuphead, Xanadu Next.

Games that do have this issue: Little Nightmares, Grandia II Anniversary Edition

As you can see this is a mix of old and new games.

According to Intel's GPU GUI, my driver version is 22.20.16.4815.

I have made quite a bit of research regarding this annoying problem and haven't been able to produce any desirable results, please help me fix this oddity that no doubt devaluates my NUC.

NUC6i7KYK - NUC, Razer Core, Fall Windows 10 Update, Video Disconnect issue - makes sound like USB device disconnect/reconnect

I have the Skull Canyon NUC, Razer Core, GTX 1080 and just updated to the Windows 10 Fall Creators update.  As soon as I got back to the desktop after the update, I noticed as soon as I right clicked on the desktop, it sounded as if I had repeatedly connected and disconnected a USB device, as it kept making the connect/disconnect sound.  I initially thought it was a bad USB driver or something, so I disconnected everything but the Razer Core, but it still happened.  I then went to device manager, showed hidden devices and got rid of anything that wasn't being used and tried to re-install what I could, but still the same issue.

I then tried to check the display settings and when I went in there, I will usually see two displays as I have the Razer Core, with GTX 1080 as my primary display connected to it's own monitor and the onboard Intel 580 graphics card with a headless HDMI connector attached.  The display settings show the two displays, but after the Windows 10 update and what I thought was USB issues because of the connect/disconnect sound, it seems that the Intel 580 would be the device that actually disappears as in the display settings screen, the two monitor setup would appear and disappear along with the device disconnect/reconnect sound from the OS.  I removed the headless HDMI connector from the Intel 580, but that did nothing.

I then just disabled the Intel 580 graphics card in Device Manager and that seems to have solved the disconnect/reconnect issue, however, now I can't use my onboard graphics card, which has been an issue sometimes when the Razer Core has randomly disconnected for some reason.

Has anyone else had an issue like this?  And is there any possible fix with drivers and/or firmware for the NUC to solve this?  I'm running the latest drivers/firmware currently.

Any help is appreciated.

NUC7i5bnh screen flickering when launching some programs

Hi.

My NUC7i5bnh is connected to the display via hdmi-dvi adaptor. Another information regarding my system is in attached file.

Screen begins flickering when I launch MS Word, Excel, Edge. Also it happens when I close Windows 10 built-in video player after playing video file and Skype after finishing conversation.

But it stops flickering when I launch the game World of Warcraft. And it does not flicker when apps mentioned above is launched if WOW is running in background.

How can I make it stop flickering without WOW in background.

The problem with the CSS game, hangs when you exit the game

Good day to all! I have INTEL NUC Skull Canyon BOXNUC6I7KYK2, all games work well, except CSS. In the KSS on Steam I go without problems, I play without problems, but the game finished the game, when the game is over, the even screen and silence appear, not one key works except Enter, pressing Enter, there is again the entrance to the game of the CSK. And so to infinity, it helps only resets on the panel of the nettop itself. It's also impossible to collapse the game, the same dark screen. The rest of the games in Steams work without any complaints, and they come in and out as usual. What could be the reason? The drivers are the latest. Maybe you should update BIOS? Although what's it got to do with it, just some incompatibility of the software level. Once it turned out without problems, nothing hanging, and was able to turn off the game, but it was only once.

Unsupported signal. Check device output

New NUC7i7BNH system with 32Gb Optane Memory, 16Gb RAM, 1,5Tb HDD.

I am trying to connect system to Sony Bravia TV via HDMI cable/port.

For first week of using the system I had no problem connecting to TV.

Late last week, following either a Win10 update and/or Intel BIOS update, I have not been able to connect to TV.  Now, after POST,  I get a black screen with error display - 'Unsupported signal. Check device output.'

I am presuming it is a problem with BIOS as computer doesn't even get to point of loading operating system.

Do I need to roll back to previous BIOS or is their a new BIOS fix?

Thanks,

David Sanderson

Graphics driver xxx_4771 win 10 1709: some suggestion to survive until next upgrade

Now it sure: the new driver 4771 with new win 10 upgrade to 1709 generate big problem for those who use NUC as HPTC.
In my case all the old setting of graphic card and Kodi 17 give flickering image. There is no way to solve problem; also if you put fix FPS your TV will be flichering:

After many hours of attempts I found a solution enough to wait for INTEL to solve the problem and hope it will be soon.
Obviously I do not guarantee this solution works for everyone.
I did configured video  to work with a 60p FPS (using INTEL utility) and I configured Kodi (v 17.4) so I did not change FPS, I also disabled in Kodi dvxa2 acceleration (otherwise i will have stairs of pixel when decode H265) .
This way, you get a fresh result, hoping how I said, that INTEL resolves soon:

I repeat that I cannot stand the INTEL & MICROSOFT pair anymore, the more trouble I have over this NUC than the pleasant times of use.

regards Antonino

PS:
i did tried to downgrade the video driver but seems that with win 10 1709 the old driver are not certificated anymore. So wuold be necessary to downgrade also windows 10 to 1703. I prefer wait for Intel's solution

NUC7i5BNK DSD over HDMI does not work

I've got an Intel NUC7i5BNK with Win10-64 connected to my Denon AVP-A1HDCI via HDMI. I can't seem to get it to stream DSD using Foobar2000 + WASAPI. DSD+PCM doesn't work either. No errors/no sound with DSD64 sources. I've got F2K configured properly for DSD. ASIO doesn't work either. My Denon does native DSD over HDMI fine from my OPPO so I know the Denon is capable.

I use my Sanyo PLV-Z2000 projector for big screen streaming of Netflix, HBO, TV-signal etc. I have recently exchanged my computer to a NUC7I5BNK. Last night I wanted to show a movie for the family and got this on the screen:

It worked fine with the old computer. Is there anything I can do on the NUC to make it work?

Thanks

Bluetooth Completely Missing on NUC6i7KYK After Disabling in Windows 10

OK, I think this may be a problem that may occur on other devices than the NUC6i7KYK in Windows 10.  I'm just observing this on the NUC6i7KYK.  I've turned off the Bluetooth Radio from the "Action Center" controls because I don't generally use the radio.  But after some time Windows decides that there is no Bluetooth hardware in the machine and will not recognize the hardware until it is re-enabled.  The problem is there is nowhere that I can find that I can re-enable the radio.  I have updated the Intel drivers for the Bluetooth (which install OK with no mention that Bluetooth does not exist).  Yet after...  Device manager shows nothing about a disabled piece of hardware nor will Windows see the radio if I use Settings -> Update & Security ->Troubleshoot -> Bluetooth (It says there is no radio).  I disabled Bluetooth in the BIOS, rebooted, checked everything in Windows, uninstalled the driver, rebooted and still see no piece of Bluetooth hardware.  Not sure how to get this active again.

Where I do I get SATA cable replacement for 7i5bnh?

I setup 3 7i5bnh servers in May, 2017 and have been using them since then. I opened the boxes today and 2 of 3 have cracked SATA cables. I can see bare wire where insulation is missing. I opened a support ticket but am happy to purchase replacements if that is faster. Does anyone sell replacement parts?IMG_9926.JPG

NUC6i7KYK and LG27UD88 - 4K Monitor

When connected through HDMI ports on NUC and Monitor ( both HDMI 2.0's), when the Monitor goes to sleep it can not be reawaken and the speakers start chirping as if you just connected some other device and they do not stop.

The only way to wake the monitor is to switch to another input and revert back to the original HDMI1 or HDMI2 on the monitor.

On the Display ports it seems to work fine.

All Drivers are up to date !!!!

Configuration is

NUC6i7kyk

  32Gb of RAM

  M.2 - 512 Gb - SSD 960 Pro

Latest Drivers are:

  BIOS  Version 050

  Iris Pro 580 - Driver version (Win 10-64 - 15.46.05.4771 KY  download)  22.20.16.4771

LG - LG ultra HD (HDMI)

  HDMI 2.0 Firmware  version 0x07 0x20

Realtek High Definition Audio - Ver 6.0.1.7982

Is anyone out there having a similar problem.  Or is there any suggestions on how to fix this annoying problem.

Thank you

Wifi issue on NUC7i5BNH

Hi, I purchased a new NUC 7th gen straight from Amazon and got an issue on the wifi. My NUC runs on Win10 pro 64 bit, 2x8GB of RAM and Samsung 960 EVO.

I've already upgrade to the latest version of BIOS (ver. 0052) and wifi driver (ver. 20.0.2)

The problem is when I'm using this NUC, somehow the wifi reception is lost for certain amount of time, eg: I tested to run ping test on command prompt, and every 10-15 mins, it will start to "Request timed out" and then "Destination host unreachable" or "General Error: Ping transmit failed". I have to wait for around 3-5 minutes and then it will runs normally or I have to reconnect to the connection. This happen to any apps that running including web browser and gaming client such as Steam. It is so frustrating because I can't complete any downloads because of this.

I'm using Linksys WRT54GL with tomato firmware and the router is just 2 meters away (~6 feet) from my desk. I'm using many devices from PC, Mac, iPad and iPhone and all of them run smoothly without any issue.

Any solution for this issue? Thanks.

Bluetooth Pairing doesn't work

$

So this issue has been bugging me for a while now but I have ignored it for the most part as I have always found another way to get my stuff going. However, now I have tried to pair about five different Bluetooth devices and I am convinced that my Nuc's BT is broken. My device is a Nuc 6i3SYH with all the latest drivers (re-)installed.

The Bluetooth problem is basically that its range is atrocious. For the Nuc to find the devices I want to pair, the have to be in DIRECT proximity of the computer. Even 10cm away is not working as the devices will not be found. Needless to say, should I manage to get the pairing done, once I take the respective device further away the connection is lost instantaneously. So far I have tried a BT mouse, a BT keyboard, a Dualshock 4, a BT remote and my Bose QC35. The Nuc works with none of them.

I am kind of pessimistic about finding a solution but if there is one, you are welcome to tell me about it. Help me Intel Community - you are my only hope.

Cheers!
