NUC513MYBE power switch bypass

I have the same problem as described in NUC5i5MYBE Power Switch Bypass |Intel Communities

In my case, I have a NUC5i3MYBE board, updated to BIOS Version MYBDW130.86A.0044, embedded inside an appliance that contains its own internal power supply.  I'd like to disable the board's power switch pushbutton to allow complete boot-up upon powering the appliance as a whole.  It's currently necessary to tap the NUC's on-board power switch after supplying power but that switch won't be accessible on a finished appliance.

I followed the suggested solution in the other question and checked the BIOS Power Sense and selected "Power On" from the After Power Failure menu in the tab's Secondary Power Settings pane.  The only other option checked in that pane is PCIe ASPM Support.  With those settings, the NUC still doesn't attempt to boot when powered until the button is pressed.

A wrinkle is that the NUC has FreeBSD 10.4 installed.

NUC is power off with a caution message.

Hi,

I am using an Intel NUC  (Model number: DN2820FYK) for past couple of years. Now I am unable to use this because as I power on the system, it shows a message "Caution : Using other than 12V DC adaptor may cause component damage and unstable system performance" and automatically gets power off. I am sure that I was using the same charger till date from the beginning and it was working fine so far. So, please help me with the possible chances of this issues and remedies.

Thanks in advance.

After updating the BIOS incorrectly creates a table MSDM utility ITK6.efi

$

Device NUC6CAYH made 04.05.2017. BIOS 29. Licensed MS DOEM necessary in BIOS (table MSDM) to record the activation key. Use the utility ITK6.EFI - the table is created, the key is written, itk6 shows that everything is OK. The final step, Windows should send proof to the cloud utility OA3TOOL. So oa3tool utility does not find key in table MSDN if all operations are performed on devices with the new BIOS is newer than the version 29. Version 29 all passes, with the newer BIOS table is not created correctly (tried version 45, then 47). Exactly the same thing is happening with devices NUC5CAYx. The support gave nothing, the second month of silent, the only sent me a VB script to see the key in the registry Windows. The problem is not solved until now. To focus on the old BIOS is not suitable, tomorrow may come the device with a new BIOS and then I can't use DOEM activation.

NUC6CAYH can't access to USB 3.0 flash drive after updating to bios 45

I've just bought two NUC6CAYH.

The initial BIOS version was 38.

I installed 4 Gb RAM and a 120Gb SSD.

Then I installed Win10 Pro and I updated all the drivers using Windows Update.

Finally I installed the Intel DSA utility to verify other updates.

The utility suggested three updates: graphic driver, wifi driver and the bios.

I installed everything and the process completed without errors.

Now the BIOS version is 45.

The system is running fine but when I connect a USB key 3.0 to any usb port (I tried many USB flash drive that worked perfectly before the update) the system completely ignore it.

If the USB key is compatible only with 2.0 standard, there are no problem.

Even changing settings in BIOS, I couldn't change anything.

Did I do something wrong? Did I forget something? Or this is a serious bug in version 45 of the bios?

Can you help to solve the problem? Thanks.

Addendum 1: the same flash drives USB 3.0 that didn't work directly connected to the NUC USB ports, through a USB 2.0 extension cable work!

An extension cable like the one in the below picture. This confirms that the problem is strictly related to USB 3.0 support.

NUC6CAYH Disable Bluetooth in bios?

I have read and have seen screenshots of Intel NUC systems that are able to enable/disable the on-board Bluetooth/Wifi modules separately

In the NUC6CAYH BIOS i only see the option to disable the on-board WIFI module, Bluetooth is nowhere to be found...

When WIFI is disabled Bluetooth still works. Anyway to disable Bluetooth?

Kind regards,

I took one of the memory banks out!  And that made a lot of difference ..But i lost 16GB now..

Not a fix ..just an observation.

For the record.

最新显卡驱动问题,导致photoshop cc2018花屏。Latest Graphics driver issues。

My Computer: WINDOWS10,NUC6 i5,

when installing the official latest version of the graphics driver will cause Photoshop cc2018 flower screen.

When you turn off the GPS acceleration, you don't have to spend the screen, but you know that now Photoshop has to turn on the GPS acceleration or it's slow.

Photoshop does not spend the screen when installing the graphics driver driver version:21.20.16.4590 version, but illustrator CC 2018 has a slight flower screen.

I've identified a problem that is not Photoshop.It's a graphics-driven problem.

Please help me, thank you!

NUC7i3BNK - Broken PCM sound from and above 88.2/16 via HDMI

Hi

No issue with DTS_MA (96/24) and with other encoded HD format but sound in case of PCM from and above 88.2/24 is broken more and more as quality is higher and higher.

It is same problem with Direct Sound and WASAPI, with foobar2k and Jriver and Kodi.

I tried latest three Intel Audio Drivers but problem is same.

GFX_WIN10_64_win64_154702.4815.zip

DAC is Pioneer Receiver SC-LX 59 which is working fine from other sources via HDMI too.

OS: Win10pro 1703

Update: I have tried over all HDMI port on the receiver. Surprisingly only 4K HDCP2.2 port were effected. I would emphasize that other sources can drive these ports too without issue.

NUC7i7BNH No HDMI output

$

Hi

I've recently purchased a NUC7i7BNH along with a 256gb SSD, 32gb RAM and M2 Optane module.

After putting it all together I can power on the unit, but there is no output via HDMI.  I've tried to my Samsung television and to my Dell monitor, using a combination of different HDMI cables.  In each case I see a "No HDMI signal" error.  I know these cables are good because they work with other devices.

The unit powers on (solid blue light) and the fans are running.  There's no indication of any other issue.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I'm thinking something is wrong with the HDMI port/component and it may be necessary to get it looked at under warranty.

Thanks

NUC7I5BNH problems with 10-bit / HDR

$

I have a NUC7I5BNH miniPC (Win 10, 64 bit, Fall Creators update, latest Windows updates, latest BIOS, latest drivers, latest HDMI firmware as of 24 Jan 2018) that was until recently connected to a Sony KDL-52Z5800 TV (1080p TV).

Last week, I exchanged my TV with a Sony KD-65A1 4K OLED HDR TV.

I connected the NUC with the HDMI 2 input of the Sony KD-65A1, using an Ultra HD 2160p 60Hz 18 Gbit/s HDMI 2.0b specified cable (tried 2 different ones!).

On the Sony TV, I enabled 'HDMI Enhanced mode' which allows to view 4K or HDR pictures at 18 Gbps according to http://sony-eur-eu-en-web--eur.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/136957/~/how-to-set-up-your-sony-4k-tv-for-a-uhd-%2F-4k-%2F-hdcp-2.2-compliant-hdmi

The NUC is set to 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz in the Intel Graphics Control Panel. Colour input range is set to 'Use driver setting' > 'Full range'.

I have 2 problems:

  1. Colour banding: indeed, when checking in Windows in 'HDR and advanced colour settings', the colour depth is 8-bit and the colour format is YCbCr420. I don't get the NUC to output 10-bit, whereas both the NUC and the Sony TV should be compatible with this colour depth.
  2. HDR: in Windows in 'Display' the 'HDR and advanced color' toggle is visible but after I try to turn it on and confirm the new settings, the toggle is again on 'Off'. In the 'Video playback' settings page, the toggle 'Stream HDR Video' is greyed out.

Any help in sorting out those 2 issues would be greatly appreciated. According to my understanding, but the NUC7I5BNH and the KD-65A1 should be able to handle 10-bit / HDR.

Please find the necessary support files attached.

NUC5i3RYK unable to access BIOS via F2 after v0367 BIOS update

$

0

The NUC is connected to a projector, and after the BIOS update to 0367 it's not possible to access the VisualBIOS any more.

BIOS Version 0367 - RYBDWi35.86A.0367.2017.0929.1059

I normally have the NUC going via a Harman Kardon AVR 151 HDMI receiver & amp, but for testing purposes I have it going

direct while updating the BIOS. There's no way to see the VisualBIOS at all since this update (or possibly earlier ones too);

I do get prompted for the BIOS password but after entering that, its black screen time indefinitely.

It *used* to work just fine, this is how this system was set up on day 1. I have no other screens in the house to use or test

with, and the projector easily goes up to 1920x1080 when the NUC boots up into FreeBSD or linux.

I shouldn't need special equipment just to check / tweak BIOS settings. There are numerous existing reports of this issue on

the forums, can somebody at Intel please note this as regression and bring us back a working VisualBIOS please? I'm sure

there will be plenty of testing going on for Meltdown/Spectre at present so this is a good opportunity to get some

visibility (snicker) on other bugs too.

thanks

Dave

Regarding upcoming NUCs

Dawson Canyon is more than perfectly suited for my needs, but I'm curious what's going to happen when the 8th gen NUCs drop next quarter. Does anyone know if there will be business variants of the Bean Canyon consumer line? Specifically, I really need the wide input voltage, internal power connector, and all of the additional internal USB headers. Bean Canyon most likely won't have these features, but the leaked roadmap last year that accurately predicted Hades Canyon didn't actually mention anything about Dawson Canyon. Based on that fact, I think it's entirely possible we'll see a Coffee Lake successor to Dawson, but I'd really like to know if that's going to happen sooner rather than later. If it's a year out, I'll just pull the trigger on Dawson.

If it's not planned, just know there's definitely demand for it. Doesn't even have to be a business line - wide input voltage and internal power headers on Bean Canyon would be enough for me.

NUC Intel Graphics Drivers Using Invalid Digital Signing Certificate

$

In Security Mitigation events found in Windows Event Viewer there are events recorded for DLL's related to Intel Graphics saying that they are not signed properly.  At the moment these are still allowed to be loaded as 'Code Integrity Guard' in Windows Defender Security Centre Exploit Protection is currently only set to 'Audit' mode for svchost.exe (the default Windows 10 setting) rather than enabled fully.

The Windows Hardware Developer portal certificates for the DLL's are correct and signed by Microsoft with SHA256 certificates (signed on 20 October 2017), however the Intel certificates don't have a valid root certificate (The root Certificate Authority is iKGF_AZSKGFDCS, which is not a valid Certificate Authority).

The two DLL's that are flagged in Event Viewer are as follows, however there are other Intel DLL's in System32 that are signed the same way.

  • Process '\Device\HarddiskVolume4\Windows\System32\svchost.exe' (PID 2356) would have been blocked from loading the non-Microsoft-signed binary '\Windows\System32\igdusc64.dll'. (Unified Shader Compiler for Intel(R) Graphics Accelerator)

  • Process '\Device\HarddiskVolume4\Windows\System32\svchost.exe' (PID 2356) would have been blocked from loading the non-Microsoft-signed binary '\Windows\System32\igd10iumd64.dll'.  (User Mode Driver for Intel(R) Graphics Technology)

Is there a reason why these aren't properly signed by Intel?
