NUC7i7BNH - Many issue with HDMI

Hi,

I just bought a NUC7i7BNH (I have also a NUC5i5RYH and everything worked well ...) and I admit to be extremely disappointed with my purchase ...

To begin, I have updated BIOS to latest 0060 and HDMI 2.0 firmware to 1.72.

 

I have display issue, I have periodic black screen / flickering with HDMI port with 3840/4096× 2160 @ 60Hz resolution, no issue with 1920x1080. On Windows, LibreELEC and this issue appears also in BIOS screen.

My TV is Samsung UE55HU8500 joined with a HDMI Monster Cable to my NUC.

 

 

I have also another issue, when I plug my NUC to my AVR impossible to have audio passthrough with DTS-HD, Dolby True HD and Dolby Digital Plus, ok with DTS and Dolby Digital, my AVR Denon AVR-2809 does not receive any audio channel.

I use Kodi 18 with LibreELEC builds with patch for Apollo Lake / Kaby Lake processors.

 

 

I specify that I have none of these problems with my NUC5i5RYH.

How I can solve this ?

NUC6CAYB .dxf format files

Hello,

 

I'm having someone build me an enclosure for a NUC6CAYB board (from the NUC6CAYS and NUC6CAYH models), but they're claiming they can't use the STEP files that Intel has published, only .dxf format files.

 

Are these available from Intel?

INTEL NUCi7 3D MVC ISSUE

Coming from Intel NUC DN2820 I was able to play 3D MVC with Kodi with new Intel Media SDK, I just purchased Intel NUC NUC7i3BNK and 3D playback doesn't work.

 

On the Intel NUC DN2820, the resolution was set 1920X1080p 3D and everything works great

On the Intel NUC NUC7i3BNK either I set the 1920X1080p 3D or  3820X2160p 3D doesn't work

 

The Intel Media SDK was supposed to allow 3D MVC to work, I did some testing and found the HDMI 2.0 connection is the one causing the issue and any NUC with HDMI 2.0 doesn't work/

Hello,

does a rough time schedule exist for the next BIOS-update of the NUC5PPYH-series, especially one that mitigates Meltdown/Spectre-related vulnerabilities?

I've been looking on Intel's website 2 times a week since early january and would like to learn when it is expected to come (approximately).

NUC6i5SYK BIOS ver. 0065 Problems

Has anyone else installed BIOS update 65 on their NUC6i5SYK , or similar devices and began to have various issues? 

 

After installing, I was most of time unable to pull up the "Windows Start" menu, unable to type in the Cortana search bar, the application Slack became hung while trying to load and after sleeping the system and waking it back up, my finger print reader stopped working and I could not get to the credential log on screen.  I was able to get into File Explorer via a short cut in my task bar and took the system back to ver. 63 of the BIOS and all is well again.  I should note that I had the Microsoft patch/update from the Meltdown exploit installed for a day or two prior and was not having these issues.  So while it could be a combination of things causing issues, they did not begin until I applied the ver. 65 of the BIOS.

 

Anyone have any similar experience or is it just me?

I have the same problem as described in NUC5i5MYBE Power Switch Bypass |Intel Communities

 

In my case, I have a NUC5i3MYBE board, updated to BIOS Version MYBDW130.86A.0044, embedded inside an appliance that contains its own internal power supply.  I'd like to disable the board's power switch pushbutton to allow complete boot-up upon powering the appliance as a whole.  It's currently necessary to tap the NUC's on-board power switch after supplying power but that switch won't be accessible on a finished appliance.

 

I followed the suggested solution in the other question and checked the BIOS Power Sense and selected "Power On" from the After Power Failure menu in the tab's Secondary Power Settings pane.  The only other option checked in that pane is PCIe ASPM Support.  With those settings, the NUC still doesn't attempt to boot when powered until the button is pressed.

 

A wrinkle is that the NUC has FreeBSD 10.4 installed.

installing windows 10 pro from USB stays at 1% (NUC7i3BNH)

I bought some NUC7i3BNH with a crucial MX500 SSD and want to install Win 10pro.

After update the BIOS and using an USB stick for installation it remains on 1% for hours.

Can anybody help me with this?

NUC7i5BNH Foxtel Go

Hi

 

Foxgo was only working partially until around November 2017 time.  it would frequently give the error "content not available" after watching for a random time.

I have other devices like a Iphone & HP i7 laptop that work fine within the same network (100mbs cable connection)

I've been through Foxtels troubleshooting many times and just about tried everything, but what happens is, live tv or catchup work for about 1 min, then I get that message.  I read on these forums user CitezenNUC also having similar issues.

Im connecting via HDMI to a samsung TV.  Maybe I should try plugging in a monitor see if I can reproduce CitizenNUCs issue where it only doesnt work with a TV and works ok with a monitor@.

 

My NUC is fully up to date with latest BIOS & gfx drivers installed in Win 10x64.  i've tried rolling back the gfx driver & uninstalling the last 2 Win 10 updates & completed clean reinstall of foxgo 1000's times, but have the same issue.

 

Please help!  I note that CitizenNUC thread is closed "assumed fixed" which isnt very helpful.  If that one is fixed, can you pls reopen and post fix details?  or maybe they just gave up?

NUC7i5BNK Thermal Event Hibernation

I am getting this error when i visit certain sites or use Steam: "The system was hibernated due to a critical thermal event."

 

All the drivers and BIOS are updated.

 

I just disabled Boost in the BIOS, but its still happening.

 

The system was hibernated due to a critical thermal event.

Hibernate Time = 2018-01-28T06:47:51.992734900Z            

ACPI Thermal Zone = \_SB.PCI0.LPCB.H_EC.TZ0            

_HOT = 200K

 

 

Amy recommendations?  This thing is brand new.

Greetings!
have many problems with integrated wlan adapter (AC8265)

in my nuc after connecting to wi-fi network my nuc going to "comatose"

She not response on mouse or keyboard

on windows logs has many errors like this

After updating the BIOS incorrectly creates a table MSDM utility ITK6.efi

Device NUC6CAYH made 04.05.2017. BIOS 29. Licensed MS DOEM necessary in BIOS (table MSDM) to record the activation key. Use the utility ITK6.EFI - the table is created, the key is written, itk6 shows that everything is OK. The final step, Windows should send proof to the cloud utility OA3TOOL. So oa3tool utility does not find key in table MSDN if all operations are performed on devices with the new BIOS is newer than the version 29. Version 29 all passes, with the newer BIOS table is not created correctly (tried version 45, then 47). Exactly the same thing is happening with devices NUC5CAYx. The support gave nothing, the second month of silent, the only sent me a VB script to see the key in the registry Windows. The problem is not solved until now. To focus on the old BIOS is not suitable, tomorrow may come the device with a new BIOS and then I can't use DOEM activation.

can your intel nuc work like htpc with windows10?

I bought one intel nuc a few years back preinstalled with windows 10 home, i gave it to my grandfather now.

what I liked about it,

+ It is small and fit anywhere.

what I don't like about it,

- wireless keyboard didn't work, I tried wrapping the whole nuc front with aluminum foil and it did work, so ok the problem is some kind of inteference

- intel graphic is a mess, i have total media theater 6, powerdvd 16 or 17, jriver 22 or 23, the thing is I can't get them displaying movie at normal speed

- audio bitstream didn't work, I saw the whole thread about cvare helping everyone to get this working, unfortunately my nuc is older model and not hdmi 2.0

 

bottom line, nuc users, can your intel nuc work like htpc with windows 10?

why do I asked this question? I would like to buy newer model and use it with hdmi & bitstreaming, i don't want it to have problem like before.

 

Note: I did tried to register intel communities few year back but failed to register, any username I typed didn't work, I wrote to Intel about it and felt like replying to some automatic answering machine. so I gave up.

NUC7i7BNH No HDMI output

Hi

 

I've recently purchased a NUC7i7BNH along with a 256gb SSD, 32gb RAM and M2 Optane module.

 

After putting it all together I can power on the unit, but there is no output via HDMI.  I've tried to my Samsung television and to my Dell monitor, using a combination of different HDMI cables.  In each case I see a "No HDMI signal" error.  I know these cables are good because they work with other devices.

 

The unit powers on (solid blue light) and the fans are running.  There's no indication of any other issue.

 

Any thoughts or suggestions? 

 

I'm thinking something is wrong with the HDMI port/component and it may be necessary to get it looked at under warranty.

NUC7i5BNH firmware update 0052 to 0061 safe to do?

I have a NUC7i5BNH using firmware 0052 and it appears to be working fine.  I see the latest firmware is 0061

but I see references in some forums to issues with firmware 0061 after updating.  This makes me a little gun-shy

about updating the BIOS though normally this would be a good idea to pick up security fixes and and other hardware

support improvements.  But this 0061 sounds a little questionable.

 

Can anyone comment on this?  Is it safe to update the BIOS to this version or is there hardware compatibility issues with

this BIOS update?

 

What is the community consensus on this?  Update or don't update?

Help_Checking media presence.. No media present. After failed insider update

Edit.

After the failed insider update and rollback, the machine worked fine and I switched it off.

Now after turning it on i get

 

Checking media presence....... No media present.

 

Only boot devices i can see in bios and boot menu is uefi lan pre

 

Any help please. nuci3.

Since boot files are on the optane, are there any issues when updating insider builds in win 10?

 

I just tried updating to latest insider build, slow ring and it failed on second reboot and rolled back. I have seen others have issues installing it (not optane) but just wondered if optane could be an issue?

? Can the NUC Lightening Port Accept video

I am trying to use the latest version of the NUC to capture video using an HDMI cable from the camera to an HDMI converter to USB 3 and then into the NUC.  Can I use the lightening port to do the same thing?  Purchase an HDMI to Lightening adapter and go directly into the NUC?
