Hi,

impossible to use the wake on Wan/lan capability of this NUC6I7KYK

Wake on Lan is not in the list of advanced configuration of the I1219-LM (just in power management)

When try to update the lan driver... receive an error... that microsoft Windows 10 block the installation of Intel® Advanced Network Services

Is that the reason ? how can I solve the issue?

Best regards

Hello,

My NUC6i5 with graphics driver V15.45.2.4481 displays 64x64 pixels mosaic when all the following conditions are matched:

1.  Use hardware video decoder (DXVA), and,

2.  The video file is H.265 8-bit encoded format, and,

3.  The width of the video is 1920.

The issue is also found in previous driver versions.

The issue is not found for H.264 format, nor 10-bit H.265, nor 720p, nor 4K video.

Here is a example video: http://video.h265files.com/video-h265.mkv

Buying RAM for Intel NUC Skull Canyon

Hi,

I am buying a 8GB RAM for NUC Skull Canyon. What should I look for specifically? SO-DIMM?

I have a few options below:

1. Kingston 8GB 260-Pin DDR4 2133 SO-DIMM (PC4 17000) Laptop Memory(2144MHz)

2. Adata Premier DDR4 Notebook RAM | 2133Mhz | 8GB

3. Apacer 8GB DDR4 2133mhz Notebook Ram

Which one is better? Does it matter whether it is 2144MHz or 2133MHz? DD3 or DD4?

Is it important what company produce it - Kingston, Crucial, Adata P or Apacer?

Can I mix two 8GB RAMs together in NUC from different companies,, eg. 1x8GB Kingston and 1x8GB Adata P?

Thanks!

NUC6i7KYK shuts down sporadically

Intel BOXNUC6i7KYK1  with Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) DDR4-2400 SODIMM

Everything installed and worked fine…but after about 5 minutes, the NUC6i7KYK turns off then re-starts.  After it turns back on by itself, it asks to edit the BIOS.  Answering NO, the system re-boots and is stable with no issues.

Same result with Crucial 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) DDR4-2133 SODIMM, part #CT2K16G4SFD8213, DDR4 PC4-17000 • CL=15 • Dual Ranked • x8 based • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR4-2133 • 1.2V • 2048Meg x 64

Same thing happens with DDR4-2133 memory, which is completely compliant with the NUC6i7KYK memory specification.  The NUC6i7KYK shuts down after the first 5 minutes then restarts.

Please advise on how to get the Intel NUC6i7KYK to operate without the very annoying automatic restarts!

Thank you very much!

Thunderbolt device not recognized through USB-C port

I am using a Nuc6i7kyk with Windows 10.

I have a Motu 828x audio interface that runs through Thunderbolt. The cable I am using is a Thunderbolt 2 cable and I have a Startech Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter to plug into the USB-C connection. Motu have tested a Startech adapter with the 828x and it works. They advised that I should be able to just plug it in and it should work.

I have updated the drivers for the NUC and made sure I have installed the latest Thunderbolt software but the audio interface is not being recognized.

Any help would be appreciated.

Can someone tell me what this is?

This piece broke off of my nuc and I have no clue what it is. Hopefully it isn't anything and wouldn't affect anything. The model is D34010WYB

Hi there

I just got my skull canyon (NUCi67KYK), installed windows 10, installed drivers...

But i have problem with Ethernet LAN. I dont have LAN connection, only WiFi works.

I can't install drivers: Intel® Gigabit Network Connection Driver for Intel® NUC Kits NUC6i[x]SY and NUC6i7KYK (ver.21.1)

It gives error: "Cannot install drivers. No Intel(R) Adapters are preset in this computer."

Please help someone!

NUCi67KYK - "No Intel(R) Adapters are present in this computer" error when installing Intel Network Adapter Driver for Windows 10 version 21.1

I attempted to install Intel Network Adapter Driver for Windows 10 version 21.1 (the latest version at this time) onto my NUCi67KYK, and the install of the driver would hang for 5 minutes, and then fail.  Due to this post, I installed Intel Network Adapter Driver for Windows 10 version 20.7.1 and the driver and wired ethernet connection works fine.  This is only a temporary solution, what happens when there is a network driver update we need to move to, but it doesn't work?  Why does this happen?  Can a fix be provided for the latest Intel Network Adapter Driver for Windows 10 for the NUCi67KYK so I'm not stuck with this old driver version?

Configuration:

NUC Kit NUC6i7KYK

16GB HyperX DDR4 2133 MHz SO-DIMM Memory Kit (2 x 8GB)

NUC6i7KYK vs AsRock Deskmini 110

Hello to all,

I am torn between 2 choices to get a new PC

1. NUC6i7KYK

+ very compact

+ good CPU, from what I've read the performance is about -20% fron i7 6700 desktop CPU

+ good GPU, at least better than the one in desktop CPUs

- some reviews say that is loud and noisy and I plan on having it on my desk, near my monitor

- temperatures seem to be too high even on idle, speaking from reviews

- expensive

2. AsRock Deskmini 110 mini-stx system

+ possibility to add a desktop CPU up to 65W TDP with stock or aftermaket cooler

+ better cooling

- slower GPU, not a Iris Pro

- good price

Beside the barebone, there will be:

- 16 GB SoDimm DDR4

- Samsung 960 EVO M2 PCIe SSD 250 GB

So basically I can take the Intel NUC and have a good CPU and GPU but my main concern is the noise. On Deskmini I can put even a i7 6700 but I don't think that cooling would help in that case, however a i7 6700T can work and get the best of both worlds.

The machine is used 80-90% of the time for software development, so games don't really have any impact on my choice. Even so, the Iris Pro doesn't seem impressive in any way.

I'm curious on your advises. What should I choose? Thank you very much for taking your time to read my question.

NUC muted after turn on receiver

Hi

My setup is as follows

NUC D54250WYKH1 running Windows 8.1 Pro with latest NUC drivers and windows update (I recently upgarded all the drives to see if that would solve the issue)

NUC is connected to Onkyo TX-NR525 on the PC (HDMI) input, The HDMI output goes to Vizio E601i-A3 TV.

The NUC is always on.  Using the Harmony 650 remote, to watch TV, I turn on the receiver  followed by the TV.  Sometimes NUC is muted and I have to unmute it for the sound to come through.

Any solution to this problem?

Thanks

NUC5PGYH won't reboot after Windows 10 Update

$

We have about 1,000 NUC5PGYH units deployed (Windows 10 64 bit) and they all seem to have this issue.  Specifically when Windows Update has to reboot a 2nd time after installing updates.  When Windows Update installs updates and then reboots, all is well.  When Windows Update downloads updates, reboots, then installs updates (e.g. "Don't turn off your computer" then 10%,20% etc messages) and then reboots again is when the issue occurs.  The system is in an unresponsive state with no display on the monitor but the power light is on and the fan will run.  Keyboard does nothing.  Wake On LAN does not wake.  The "fix" is to power cycle either by holding the power button down for five seconds or pulling the power plug out.  When the power is turned on the computer boots just fine.

I assume that when the computer reboots and Windows Update loads the system is running a stripped down kernel.  There's something about the Windows Update shutdown process in this state that isn't working quite right.

Thanks,

Jim

Power bank for NUC Skull?

Can I charge NUC skull via a power bank through the USB port? Or it only can be charged through the 120W power supply?

It will be brilliant if it can be charged via USB.

NUC5i7RYH Iris Graphics Crashing/Freezing on some websites with Windows 10

I am experiencing  crashes/freezes on certain websites that contain embedded video. The NUC involved is model NUC5i7RYH running windows 10 64 bit. The freeze is total when it happens. Everything just stops working. There is no blue screen just a complete freeze. I have to power down to get the NUC working again. After much investigation I discovered that the culprit is the Iris 6100 graphics driver. I am using the latest version 20.19.15.4300 but the problem also occurred on previous version. When I change the driver to the Microsoft basic display driver the problem disappears. However, video and text with the microsoft basic display driver does not appear to be quite as good video as with the intel driver (and Windows 10 constantly "updates" the driver to the problem intel version). Hence, this is only a temporary fix or workaround.

I've  noted that this problem can be recreated by launching the Iris Graphics Control Center, selecting Video, then selecting Color Enhancement on the left side (the default) and  then under Preview selecting FilmModeDetection. As soon as I select FilmModeDetection the computer freezes. If I change the driver settings on this page to Full Range the FilmModeDetection option will sometimes run and some problem websites will load without crashing the computer immediately but they do eventually cause a crash so selecting the "Full Range" option does not appear to be a fix.

It would be nice if Intel could solve this issue. I expect others must be experiencing it as well. In fact, my searches have indicated a variety of problems with intel video (not just Iris) and windows 10.

USB Camera issue on Intel NUC NUC6i7KYK

I have four NUC6i7KYK NUCs using the Intel SSD 600p series drive & the G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8 GB pn: F4-2133C15S-*GRS ram.

I am using an Aver CAM520 USB PTZ camera. The issue is I lose good video when I connect the camera with a USB Extender. The camera works fine with a short 10 ft USB cable.

The system is Win 10 Pro with the latest Intel BIOS & Drivers.

Does anyone know of a USB Extender that works?

The USB Extender works fine using an older computer.

Thank you

Update: I have contacted Aver for help with the issue. I have also ordered new USB Extenders, brand Icron.

NUC no longer boots from USB

Sorry if this has been discussed before.

We have roughly about 50 or so NUCs ranging from the 4th Gen to the current 6th gen i7.

And they suffer from the same failure.

At some point, they all stop booting from USB devices.

They boot great from USB for about 10 or so time, then suddenly stop.

The device still show up as a boot option even if it is not plugged in, but if it is select it simply loops back to the book selection screen.

I think something along in the boot info is getting corrupt, and there is no way to reset it without just RMAing the NUC.

I have tried flashing, pulling the jumper and letting it sit overnight and nothing corrects it.

Any help would be great.

Please advise

Thanks
