HI all,

My NUC keeps crashing (NUC7I7BHN) at least twice a day and finally a mini dump. I ran BlueScreenView on it and captured the DLL detail below at bottom. Note I uninstalled the latest(as of 5/10) and now ok never crashes. I don't have the new sleep functionality with the standard MS Driver but I do get the highest res. I would like to get this to work if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Specs:
NUC NUC7I7BHN
Samsung 960 PRO MZ-V6P2T0BW 2TB SSD
Samsung 850 EVO MZ-75E4T0B/AM 4TB SSD
Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 32GB Kit DDR4-2666 SODIMM (2x16)
** The 4TB is running in AHCI in the bios not SATA.  This is the only way I could access the 2TB M.2 when reinstalling Win10 to format.

DLL Detail:
Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
Platform Specific Hardware Error Driver 10.0.15063.0 (WinBuild.160101.0800)
Microsoft Corporation
C:\Windows\system32\PSHED.dll

Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
VGA Boot Driver 10.0.15063.0 (WinBuild.160101.0800)

Nuc i7 NUC7i7BNH Windows 10 Blue screen

Hi,

Bought New NUC i7,

Unfortunately it began with blue screen problems

After many tests by support - that said it is RMA and told me to send only NUC without SSD M2 and DDR

It came back - same problem

Why they don't check the system with all the parts ? -> this is not really understood to me

We have tried everything, update BIOS, Log event tools, Default setup and many other things - but same problem occur

Any one have any Idea what to do ?

My guess that this is related to one of the parts that were not exchanged:

  • Power supply
  • DDR
  • SSD M2

Any one have any experience with what to start ?

Thanks,

Roee

Description

Provide a detailed description of the issue

Turning on the tv, than the NUC, results in the tv not seeing any signal from the NUC connected to either ports HDMI 1 or HDMI 2 on the tv, mentioning "No input detected". The tv does flicker/switch once, noticing the NUC is starting. Neither the boot splash screen, nor the OS desktop is seen. The NUC boots successfully as i can connect to it over the network. Rebooting the NUC up to 10 times eventually results in showing the boot splash screen and the OS desktop. The VGA connection plugged into another display does not seem to have any problems. Re-plugging the HDMI cable has no effect, tv flickers/switches once but eventually will show "No Input detected". No connection/display issues at all with a satellite set top box connected to the same tv.

Please place an X to the right of the option showing how often you see this issue using specific steps. (Ex: 'Every few times a game is started it flickers.' <- This would be "Often")

Video distortions on scrolling in browsers

Have Linux Stretch installed on an NUC6CAYH.  (Openbox WM).  A nice match of OS and machine in many ways, but there are some noticeable visual distortions when scrolling in web browsers, kind of like ripples on a pond.

I know there has been updates for Windows graphics, but would like to know how to install graphic updates for Linux.  Stretch is using Kernel 4.9.  I tried installing DMC firmware 1.07 but this was not any help. The unit was manufactured in May 2017.

Grateful for any help here.

Hi

Have Debian 9 installed on an NUC6CAYH and having one or two problems that is keeping things from being perfect.  This one seems simple and I hope someone will make me feel like a fool with something I am just not seeing, but I am not able to get Wifi working on this unit.  I have WICD installed which shows no wifi connections.  Rfkill shows nothing switched off.  I have installed the iwlwifi firmware and noticed the iwlwifi-3168-22.ucode file in the /lib/firmware directory.  Not sure where to go from here.  Please enlighten...

Netflix in UHD what am I missing

I have an intel NUC7i7BNH with 16gb of memory.  Which is connected to an LG HDR tv (I can get HRD contect via the smart TV apps and the 4k player)

I have done some research online and found out that the HDMI port on the NUC is hdcp2.2 compliant

http://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/boardsandkits/NUC7i5BN_NUC7i7BN_TechProdSpec.pdf

(page 25)

From my research online I can confirm that:

  1. I am running windows 10 with all of the latest updates installed
  2. I am using the latest graphics drivers from intel
  3. I have the netflix UHD package (again I have checked via just the app on the tv and it streams in UHD)
  4. I have set Netfix it via the options to use the best possible picture.
  5. I am using MS edge as the browser when connecting to netfilx

I just don’t seem to be able to get it to stream in UHD on the PC.

Has anyone managed to get this to work?

NUC7I5BNK Power ON from Microsoft XBOX 360 Media Remote not working

$

I am not sure if it is a bug or a missing feature but since it’s announced that this remote is compatible (NUC Ecosystem Catalog July 2017) should work.

360 Media remote.png

https://www.intel.es/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/technical-specifications/nuc-ecosystem-catalog-2017.pdf

Please add support in BIOS or remove from advertised products as compatible.

NOTE: some old NUC’s has this support in BIOS:

However in last generation NUC’s (NUC7I5BNK) this option is missing in BIOS.

Impossible to Downgrade BIOS on NUC7i5BNH

$

I am running my NUC with BIOS .050 and want to downgrade it to .047

No matter how I try to downgrade, it seems impossible for some reason, even using the jumper method.

I was on BIOS 51, tried to downgrade to 47, as it has the previous UEFI graphics, but the BIOS says that it's incompatible BIOS (despite it still has the same ME version).

Tried to downgrade to 50 - worked.

Tried from 50 to 49, incompatible.

Tried the F4 method - getting blank screen when booting, doesn't do anything  (tested on 4k TV or 1080P monitor).

Tried removing the security jumper (following the exact instructions here)  - getting blank screen when booting, doesn't do anything  (tested on 4k TV or 1080P monitor).

I have asked other members in the NUC forum and they have the same results.

Is there any way to downgrade to .047?

nuc7i3bnh does not wake up external hard drive from sleep

I recently purchaed this nuc and very satisified with size and perfomance

I do have one issue with my external hard disk, Seagate goFlex

http://www.seagate.com/em/en/external-hard-drives/desktop-hard-drives/goflex-desk/

The disk has an external power supply and usb 3 dock which i connected to the usb 3 ports on the front of my nuc

For some reason the disk doesn't wake up after the first time it falls asleep , which is an issue i never had in my older PC (consider that the windows 10 installation was transferred as is to the nuc)

i deselected the option that allows the port to turn off the device (I am not sure if i did it on the right port though) and i even installed the seagate app and sepcified NEVER to put the disk to sleep but still this happens and I lose all access to my media content whch is terrible for me

the only way to get it to work again is to unplug the usb and re plug it

any solutions?

dear all

I have a NUC 7i5bnk, connecting a HDMI monitor working at 4k60hz. i havd had all lastist drivers and updates.

the problems is, occasionlly (one or two times a day in ten standby mode) the hdmi output will lost in standby mode, whenever i touch keyboard click nouse, the screen will not gose back. but the windows is still work.  no matter i turn off on the monitor and/or dis/reconnect the hdmi cable, the screen will not gose back.  I can wait longer time to the NUC gose to S3 sleep mode, then touch keyboard to wake the system.  mostly, the screen will gose back, and i can continue my work on the NUC .

I have changed 4 high quality HDMI2.0 cables, still get the same thing happen.

if anyone have the samilar problem or experiences, do please give me a help.

thanks and regards.

NUC7i7BNH Ubuntu Server No Video Output from HDMI

$

OS: Ubuntu Server 17.04 with the latest update

The server runs just fine and so are all the processes. However, there is no video output signal from the HDMI cable as when I plug it in to my TV or computer monitor, a "no input signal" prompt would show. Even when I restart the NUC, there's nothing shown on the screen, even the BIOS Logo wouldn't show. Anyone has a similar situation and knows a fix?

Thanks!

Graphics issues with NUC7I7BNH

$

I have the NUC7I7BNH running:

  • Windows 10 Home (64 bit),
  • Kingston HyperX Impact 2x16GB  2133 MhZ DDR4 RAM
  • Samsung 960 EVO 250GB M.2 SSD
  • Connected via HDMI to LG 27UD69P-W 27" monitor

Two primary issues:

  1. When the monitor goes to sleep, I can't wake it back up without turning off the computer.  This seems to be an issue with the Intel GPU?  I've seen this issue on many forums with no real answer.  This alone is incredibly disappointing and if I hadn't bought all of these components to go along with my machine I'd be returning it unless I can find a solution that allows my monitor to sleep and wake up properly.
  2. When running google chrome, and going to google maps, the computer sounds like it is a jet engine taking off and starts going extremely slowly.  This problem does not exist with MS Edge, only in Chrome.  Not sure what could be causing this?

Thank you!

NUC7i7BNH – Dual Monitor Output via a Single USB-C Port

$

Hi,

My monitor setup is as follows:

  • Samsung C34F791 (3440x1440 resolution)
  • Samsung S27A650D (1920x1080 resolution)

Both of these monitors have a DisplayPort input. I’d like to connect them via this port to my NUC7i7BNH. The USB-C port on the back of my NUC7i7BNH supports Thunderbolt 3, but I’m not sure if it’s capable of driving this dual monitor configuration.

Some suggest to use an external adapter, like Cable Matters, StarTech, or plugable.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpBfnnOl9Yw
https://lesterchan.net/blog/2017/08/11/cable-matters-thunderbolt-3-to-dual-displayport-adapter/

- I read that “USB-C specifications only allow one external display per USB-C port”. Is this correct for NUC7i7BNH’s Thunderbolt 3 port as well?

- If so, doesn’t an external dual DisplayPort adapter like Cable Matters adds latency or reduces framerates?

- Would you recommend using a single USB-C port and an external dual DisplayPort adapter, or direct USB-C to DisplayPort connection on one monitor + HDMI to DVI connection on the other monitor (S27A650D doesn’t have HDMI inputs)?

Regards,

Erez.
