NUC6I5SYH Bluetooth Connection Range / Coverage?

$

Can anyone provide NUC6I5SYH Bluetooth connection Range / Coverage ?

Based on the NUC6I5SYH Specification at Intel product page , it is using Bluetooth 4.2.

And checked the Bluetooth Range 4.2 at Google , it support up to 10 meters.

Is my justification correct ?

INTEL NUCi7 3D MVC ISSUE

Coming from Intel NUC DN2820 I was able to play 3D MVC with Kodi with new Intel Media SDK, I just purchased Intel NUC NUC7i3BNK and 3D playback doesn't work.

On the Intel NUC DN2820, the resolution was set 1920X1080p 3D and everything works great

On the Intel NUC NUC7i3BNK either I set the 1920X1080p 3D or  3820X2160p 3D doesn't work

The Intel Media SDK was supposed to allow 3D MVC to work, I did some testing and found the HDMI 2.0 connection is the one causing the issue and any NUC with HDMI 2.0 doesn't work/

NUC7i7BNH Ubuntu Server No Video Output from HDMI

OS: Ubuntu Server 17.04 with the latest update

The server runs just fine and so are all the processes. However, there is no video output signal from the HDMI cable as when I plug it in to my TV or computer monitor, a "no input signal" prompt would show. Even when I restart the NUC, there's nothing shown on the screen, even the BIOS Logo wouldn't show. Anyone has a similar situation and knows a fix?

Thanks!

Audio issues at 4k on NUC7I5BNH

I am having issues with some audio, particularly in games, when my TV is set to 4k@60Hz resolution.  I mentioned this in the massive flickering thread and cvare told me to break it out, even though I think this is all related.

Setup: NUC7I5BNH, Vizio m55-C2 4k TV, Audio either through TV or using ARC to Sony XT:HT1 soundbar.

Problem: When I have the resolution set to 4k@60Hz, ifI start a game in full screen mode that is at a different resolution than the desktop, I get no sound.  If Windows resolution is set to 1080p in the Intel Graphics Settings, the sound is fine (but I don't want to change settings and reboot every time I want to pay a game).  In one of the games, I can select windowed mode and the sound then works.  However, when my resolution is set to 4k, it only displays in 1/4 of the screen so there is obviously another problem there.  From looking around online, it sounds like others have experienced this before and it might be an HDMI handshake issue or some problem caused when trying to switch to a different resolution.

Games: LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens (this is the one that the audio works in windowed mode but the video is weird)

The LEGO Movie Videogame

So the symptoms are different than with the flickering issues, but it all seems related to HDMI/driver issues.  Is this a problem with the LSPCON chips in these NUCs?

D54250WYK screen problem

Hello,

I have the above nuc.  I don't know what happened but the graphics no longer display on the monitor.  When I press power, I can hear the unit turning on but nothing is shown on the screen.  The monitor says no signal.  I thought maybe the msata drive or memory died so I went and bought a replacement.  After putting a brand new msata and memories into the unit, same problem.  Nothing shows on the screen.  Does anyone know what's going on?

Thanks.

How I avoid this error?

nuc7i3bnh does not wake up external hard drive from sleep

$

I recently purchaed this nuc and very satisified with size and perfomance

I do have one issue with my external hard disk, Seagate goFlex

http://www.seagate.com/em/en/external-hard-drives/desktop-hard-drives/goflex-desk/

The disk has an external power supply and usb 3 dock which i connected to the usb 3 ports on the front of my nuc

For some reason the disk doesn't wake up after the first time it falls asleep , which is an issue i never had in my older PC (consider that the windows 10 installation was transferred as is to the nuc)

i deselected the option that allows the port to turn off the device (I am not sure if i did it on the right port though) and i even installed the seagate app and sepcified NEVER to put the disk to sleep but still this happens and I lose all access to my media content whch is terrible for me

the only way to get it to work again is to unplug the usb and re plug it

any solutions?

Anyone else have issues with HDMI signal dropouts? I am losing connection every now and then. I have to remove the cable and then plug it back in. Sometime blowing into the port helps. Weird I know.

NUC7I3BNH freezes - iwlwifi Microcode SW error detected

$

For 2 months I've tried to deploy a NUC7I3BNH without success as a result of random system freezes. I'm running Ubuntu 17.04 (GNU/Linux 4.10.0-28-generic x86_64)  - server edition in a headless configuration.

The first task I tried to run on this system is loading data via Bluetooth from my PV inverter. On the system's first day, I encountered Bluetooth problems, i.e. corrupted messages and a frozen Bluetooth stack that forced me to restart the BT service over and over again.

I tried the following:

  • upgraded the BIOS to the (at the time) latest version: 0047
  • upgraded the iwlwifi firmware to version 22.361476.0

  • configured Monit to automatically check and if necessary restart the Bluetooth service
  • log the CPU temperature in a database as the temperature increases significantly during a freeze:
    2017-07-21_14-39-56.jpg

All of the above did not result in any improvements as the system usually freezes (no longer responds to terminal commands or ping requests) after a few days but sometimes only after minutes. Today I noticed for the first time an anomaly in the dmesg output (see below): +0.001852] iwlwifi 0000:3a:00.0: Microcode SW error detected.  Restarting 0x2000000. (occurs multiple times).

I now have the following questions:

  1. is this most likely a hardware or a software problem (i.e. iwlwifi driver)?
  2. what else can I do to find the root cause?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Output from dmesg:

Black Screen on turning on NUC5CPYH

My NUC5CPYH does not boot up. The first time I pushed the power on button after installing RAM and Hard Disk the screen remains black and no BIOS screen is shown. I have used Crucial CT102464BF160B 8GB 1600MHz DDR3L 204-Pin  RAM chip. I have checked using both HDMI cable as well as normal VGA  cable. Is it the issue of faulty hardware ?

UEFI and PXE/WDS for 7th Gen NUC Non-functional

So this was mentioned in another discussion that was marked as answered but looks to have just been abandoned by the original poster (Thread 115121).  I am seeing UEFI PXE boot problems on the 7th gen nucs similar to what was mentioned in that thread.  We have 50+ of each of the following NUC models...D34010WYK, NUC5i3RYK, NUC6i5SYK.  All of them transitioned fairly well from Legacy PXE Boot to UEFI PXE Boot (Some did need BIOS updates but that is to be expected).  However our newest stock of NUC7i5BNK's will not boot to PXE in UEFI (BIOS updated and all).  The options exist in the BIOS options and the device recognizes and serves up the option to network boot.  Selecting the IPv4 boot option event initiates the process and sees the network (Media detected message), but it wont go any further.  I can even flip the device to non-secure boot non-UEFI, and PXE boot the device perfectly fine using Legacy network boot.  I would REALLY prefer to move forward and not build the newest NUCs in legacy mode while all the older model NUCs transition over to UEFI and secure boot.

NUC7I5BNK Power ON from Microsoft XBOX 360 Media Remote not working

I am not sure if it is a bug or a missing feature but since it’s announced that this remote is compatible (NUC Ecosystem Catalog July 2017) should work.

360 Media remote.png

https://www.intel.es/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/technical-specifications/nuc-ecosystem-catalog-2017.pdf

Please add support in BIOS or remove from advertised products as compatible.

NOTE: some old NUC’s has this support in BIOS:

However in last generation NUC’s (NUC7I5BNK) this option is missing in BIOS.

Intel NUC NUC5PPYH duplex printing problem

$

Hello,

I have an Intel NUC5PPYH and I cannot have a flawless duplex printing. I am currently running Win 10 Pro 64 bit built 1703. Whenever I try to print a 2-page document, created on MS Office 2010 Word, I end up with a sheet of paper where the front page print does not 100% overlap the print on the back page. Lets say that the front page has 32 lines of words typed and the back has also 32 lines of words typed. In an ideal situation, the front print (i.e the first 32 lines) should overlap the next 32 lines. In my case, printing of the front page starts lower than usual (4 lines lower to be precise) whereas the back page printing starts normally on the top of the page, thus I am having a sheet of paper where if you place it under any light, you could see that the 2 printings (front & back) do not overlap. Sorry for my english, this is the best way I can describe the problem, treat the document in question as an x-ray and place it under normal everyday lighting. Every paper has some degree of transparency.

I am using the default settings in MS Word, margins, spaces etc are used as is.

I was facing the same problem when running Win 10 Pro 64 bit built 1607. I updated to built 1703 hoping for a fix. My printer was an HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 4535 AiO, which had automatic 2-sided printing and was connected to my NUC through usb cable. I had to return it to the store. I have also used a Samsung Multifunction Printer Xpress M2885FW which also had automatic 2-sided printing, connect it through usb, the problem still persists.

Moved my NUC to a place where another HP printer which also had automatic 2-sided printing, unfortunately, problem persists.

I have also converted the aforementioned 2-sided file to a PDF, still facing duplex error.

I have also uninstalled Win 10 Pro and installed Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I didn't solved the problem.

While running built 1607 (Win 10 Pro 64 bit) I also used MS Office 2007 and 2016 Pro, faulty duplex printing continued. I am currently on built 1703 with MS Office 2016 Pro.

Purchased heavier paper (120gr instead of 80gr), thinking that it may be a roller issue (or whatever mechanism is used to grab the paper), didn't solved it either.

I have also installed Libre Office and used it for printing only documents that were created in MS Office and magically the problem was solved! Used Libre to open other files created under MS Office, and printing was fine.

Lastly I have also emailed the above document to a couple of friends that I knew they had printers with automatic 2-sided printing, asked them to not change any Office parameter and print it. 2-sided printing was fine.

Looking forward to a solution.

Thank you.
