OK, I think this may be a problem that may occur on other devices than the NUC6i7KYK in Windows 10. I'm just observing this on the NUC6i7KYK. I've turned off the Bluetooth Radio from the "Action Center" controls because I don't generally use the radio. But after some time Windows decides that there is no Bluetooth hardware in the machine and will not recognize the hardware until it is re-enabled. The problem is there is nowhere that I can find that I can re-enable the radio. I have updated the Intel drivers for the Bluetooth (which install OK with no mention that Bluetooth does not exist). Yet after... Device manager shows nothing about a disabled piece of hardware nor will Windows see the radio if I use Settings -> Update & Security ->Troubleshoot -> Bluetooth (It says there is no radio). I disabled Bluetooth in the BIOS, rebooted, checked everything in Windows, uninstalled the driver, rebooted and still see no piece of Bluetooth hardware. Not sure how to get this active again.

NUC6i7KYK - NUC, Razer Core, Fall Windows 10 Update, Video Disconnect issue - makes sound like USB device disconnect/reconnect
I have the Skull Canyon NUC, Razer Core, GTX 1080 and just updated to the Windows 10 Fall Creators update. As soon as I got back to the desktop after the update, I noticed as soon as I right clicked on the desktop, it sounded as if I had repeatedly connected and disconnected a USB device, as it kept making the connect/disconnect sound. I initially thought it was a bad USB driver or something, so I disconnected everything but the Razer Core, but it still happened. I then went to device manager, showed hidden devices and got rid of anything that wasn't being used and tried to re-install what I could, but still the same issue.
I then tried to check the display settings and when I went in there, I will usually see two displays as I have the Razer Core, with GTX 1080 as my primary display connected to it's own monitor and the onboard Intel 580 graphics card with a headless HDMI connector attached. The display settings show the two displays, but after the Windows 10 update and what I thought was USB issues because of the connect/disconnect sound, it seems that the Intel 580 would be the device that actually disappears as in the display settings screen, the two monitor setup would appear and disappear along with the device disconnect/reconnect sound from the OS. I removed the headless HDMI connector from the Intel 580, but that did nothing.
I then just disabled the Intel 580 graphics card in Device Manager and that seems to have solved the disconnect/reconnect issue, however, now I can't use my onboard graphics card, which has been an issue sometimes when the Razer Core has randomly disconnected for some reason.
Has anyone else had an issue like this? And is there any possible fix with drivers and/or firmware for the NUC to solve this? I'm running the latest drivers/firmware currently.
Any help is appreciated.
NUC6CAYH Windos 10 wireless driver: which version?
I have downloaded and installed the latest Windows 10 driver for the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/it/download/26436/NUCs-Intel-Wireless-basato-sulla-tecnologia-Driver-per-Windows-10-per-i-Kit-Intel-NUC-NUC6CAYS-e-NUC6CAYH?product=95062

NUC7i7BNH – 100Hz Refresh Rate at Lower Resolutions
Hi,
My monitor is an ultrawide Samsung C34F791, capable of 3440x1440 at 100 Hz via HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2.
According to the specs, NUC7i7BNH is capable of outputting 4096x2304 at 60 Hz.
That’s great for 4K monitors! But what about higher refresh rates at lower resolutions?
- Does Iris Plus Graphics 650 support higher than 60 Hz refresh rate?
- Is HDMI 2.0 capable of 100 Hz refresh rate?
- Is Thunderbolt 3 (the USB-C port) capable of 100 Hz refresh rate?

PCIe issue with NUC7 Bios
Our PCIe Express hardware device (PCIe x4 GEN I interface) is connected to the 4 Lanes PCI Interface on the M.2 slot.
We did some basic tests with an older BIOS version 0031 from 14th December 2016 and everything was working fine.
After upgrading to the latest BIOS version BNKBL357.86A, Version 0054 from October 25th 2017 we see PCI Express link issues.
We analyzed the behavior with the PCI Express analyzer and saw repetitive PCIe LINK trainings.
It seems like ASPM (Active State Power Management) is activated which is not supported from our hardware.
We tried to downgrade to an older BIOS version but this is prohibited with the latest ME version.
Therefore, I cannot tell you since which BIOS version this problem is present.
We also changed the Windows 10 power management settings but it didn’t have any affect to the PCIe Link.
The same issue was present on both NUC7i7 and NUC7i5 systems we tested. We did not observe the same issue with NUC6i5 systems.
It would be very nice if you could help me with the following questions:
- Do you have an explanation for this behavior?
- Is this PCIe Link behavior activated by accident or on purpose enabled for M.2 SSDs?
- Can we expect that a BIOS upgrade will fix our link problem?
Thanks a lot for your help.
NUC7ixBN Screen Flashing (screen turns on and off) when using 4K resolutions
Hi all,
We are aware of this issue and a bug was opened a couple weeks ago. The developers/engineers are working on finding a solution and I will post any updates and/or solutions here.
Thank you for your patience.
Intel NUC7i3BNK can't turn it back on with remote
This is lengthy but for those who read it and for Intel, trying to avoid any unnecessary questions. Been working in this for a long time. I think eventually I get somewhere, but still not solved.
I am having trouble with my infrared port on my NUC. Problem I've read others are having as well. My problem is specifically around turning the unit on from sleep. Other buttons seem to work including powering it off. To start, my setup:
- Intel BOXNUC7I3BNK NUC Kit
- Corsair Force MP500 Series M.2 SSD 120GB Internal Drive (CSSD-F120GBMP500)
- Ballistix Sport LT 8GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR4 2400 MT/s (PC4-19200) SODIMM 260-Pin - BLS2K4G4S240FSD (Gray)
- Windows 10 Pro all updates
- ITECIR and eHome Infared transceivers both show under HID in Device Manager
- Connected to a Panasonic Plasma with HDMI cable, no CEC.
For drivers:
- All Windows updates
- BIOS at latest 0051 version
- Have all drivers as of today on this site: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=NUC7I3BNK
Only software on this system is KODI. And frequently on my many Windows re-installs didn't bothering even with KODI. The reason I bought the NUC was it would run Windows, and came integrated with infrared. Infrared doesn't work? No value.
Bios Settings of relevance:
- Enhanced Consumer IR checked
- Unchecked HDMI CEC Control due to other forums with people troubleshooting IR that sounded like this may tie to loosing the IR all together.
- S3 and S4/S5 set to allow wake on CIR
- Power set to Max Performance
What's happening:
I have a number of remotes, all of them 95% of the buttons work, including putting the device to sleep/off, only 1 (Harmony) can actually bring the device out of sleep and online again but not the remote I want to use. The remotes I'm testing with:
- Harmony 880 programmed as a Microsoft Digital Media Remote. This remote has zero ability to turn on/off my XBox 360, however it's discrete on and off, as well as it's power toggle button will turn the NUC on and off. All other functions work as well on the NUC.
- Microsoft XBox 360 newer media remote. All functions work on this remote except power on (pressing the XBOX button on top right). This will turn on and off an XBox 360 though. I mention this because there seems to be a difference between how/what signals the buttons are sending. The Harmony can't control the XBox but can the NUC. This remote can control the XBox power on and off and all functions except power on for the NUC .
- Also have the older XBox 360 media remote. This one functions the same as the newer XBox 360 media remote above.
According to Intel's ecosystem list, the last two remotes above are supposed to be compatible:
Things I've tried without any change in intended results to get the power on working. Each was done with a refresh of the OS so no overlaps:
- Windows 10 out of the box.
- Windows 8 with as many drivers as I could get ot work. The IR drivers did install and show the CIR and eHome drivers.
- Tried the MCE remote mapper tool but that seemed to have no impact. Tried setting the X button to wake but nothing.
- Tried going in registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da}\Four-digit_number and setting ForceHCResetOnResume to 1.
- Tried going in registry Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\HidIr\Remotes\745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da and changed CodeSetNum0 to 0. Also tried with just that change and deleting CodeSetNum1 - 3
- Tried going in registry Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\HidIr\Remotes\745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da and changed CodeSetNum0 to 8 as some say. Also tried with just that change and deleting CodeSetNum1 - 3
- Tried in regedit going to key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HidIr\Remotes\745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da" and in "ReportMappingTable" change the line "0c,00,00,00,03,82,00," to "0c,00,00,00,03,81,00,". Sounded more for shutdown but tried it.
- On the eHome Receiver in Device Manager I have it set to not allow the computer to turn off the device to save power. The open to allow to wake is grayed out.
- I decide well why is everyone saying to go to the RC6 only registry entry I go to the RC6 XBox 360 area instead at Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HidIr\Remotes\745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57df. I change the "0c,00,00,00,03,82,00," to "0c,00,00,00,03,81,00,". After rebooting remote doesn't work to send to sleep. OK that's something that it effected the remote.
- Sticking with this, I try Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HidIr\Remotes\745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57df. I change the "0c,00,00,00,03,82,00," to "0c,00,00,00,03,83,00,". This time it shuts down the computer completely. No ability to turn it back on again from remote as usual.
- Then tried Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HidIr\Remotes\745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57df. I change the "0c,00,00,00,03,82,00," to "0c,00,00,00,04,04,3D,". This time Windows asked if I wanted to shutdown. When i clicked enter it shutdown but couldn't power on still with the remote.
This was supposed to be a simple project for my father who is in a home to watch movies and enhance his life. It's turned into a two month nightmare for me. I know there are many threads out here with similar problems. Can someone please help? And the point of my effort in documenting this is I have all the drivers, bios update, HDMI 2.0 update, etc. No stone left unturned that I know of. Any help? I can no longer return this to Amazon as my time has expired to do so. Thinking the trick is in the XBOX360 RC6 branch of the registry "maybe?" but can't figure it out. Still scratching my head why my Harmony remote turns it on and off with the power toggle or the power on and power off discrete commands.
Note since I've already spent a lot of money on remotes that don't work and actually have another NUC on it's way to test it, glad to physically send Intel whatever they want to test. The NUC, the remotes, whatever. This would eliminate Intel "not being able to reproduce this problem" that I see lots of people having in various ways.
Thoughts?
Thanks.
Steve
Network Driver update, NUC 5425
The Install Wizard for Intel Network Connections would not execute, returning the message "The installed version of Intel Network Connections is not supported for upgrades. You must uninstall it before installing this version."
Cleverly, Intel provides no click through or instructions for completing such a deed. The only option is to close the wizard.
I'm hesitant to poke around and uninstall something as critical as a network driver without knowing what I'm doing.
It is surprising Intel would not provide proper guidance with this, but it is what it is. I'd welcome help from this community. I've attached an amusing screenshot of the installer's message.
My second new NUC6cayh won't start
Hello all,
I don't seem to have much luck with my NUC. This is the second one i buy (same model) that don't work.
First one was discust here with problem with signal to tv. That one i will send back for repair/replace.
Anyway, since i didn't want to be without HTPC i buy a new one. Put ram and sdd from the old one to the new one.
And it don't start..Power button don't light up and nothing happens when i press it. I can see inside the nuc that a led is light up when i connect AC power.
I tried to diffrent AC adapters, also tried the ram and hdd in a friends NUC (same model).
I tried to restore BIOS, but that didn't work since the nuc don't start at all. If i hold the startbutton for maybe 10 sec the hole LED frame in the front of the NUC light up for 0,5 sec and the goes black
again.
Press the powerbutton for 3 sec then release don't help. I tried to remove a jumper on the board to restore CMOS or something like that and that didn't help either.
Do i have a faulty one again?

NUC5PGYH HDMI image/video problem
Hello.
I just got the nuc from the title a day ago and today i set it up connecting it to my tv. I noticed a weird problem with the hdmi. Sometimes when i change the source on my tv to another hdmi and then switch back to the hdmi where the nuc is i have an image which is only a white noise video. I am attaching a picture of it. After a few reswitches it gets normal. If i dont reswitch the screen keeps flickering between no signal, that white noise stuff and nothing shown with the message that the resolution is not supported. If i start the nuc and i have the tv on that hdmi source from the start everything is ok. Same after it starts working. The problem occurs just if i switch sources while nuc is on or i start the nuc and i have the source on tv on another one and i switch to the nuc at a later time.
Any idea what might be happening?

How do I daisy chain 2 thunderbolt hubs?
I have recently discovered a USB C hub that connects to my Thunderbolt port on the NUC7i7BNH. However it's only got an hdmi port, 2 usb ports and an sd card slot. I can daisy chain it with another hub, but there's no other USB C out on it, so can you daisy chain them together and retain the high power transfers?
I have problem booting an Ubuntu usb to start an installation process
NUC 5i7RYH
Kingston G4 8GB USB created by Standard Ubuntu USB-utility with Ubuntu 17.04
The USB is found by BIOS but it won't boot from it.
I have tested several BIOS settings and updated BIOS Firmware too.
Any ideas?
GPU Driver 15.60.0.4849 for KBL NUC?
Is the HDR launch driver : Download Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows* [15.60] compatible with the KBL-U NUCs?
It installed fine on a Shuttle DS77U (KBL-U Celeron), but, indicates incompatibility on the NUC7i7BNH (KBL-U NUC).
Unfortunately, only the NUC7 has the HDMI 2.0 ports that I want to test out the HDR capabilities with.
Any insight from the folks at Intel would be helpful.

Stuttering with Plex media server (1080p and 4k) and playback of 4k content on VLC
Hi,
I have two issues which I was hoping the community could help with:
1) Playback from a PLEX media server stutters with 4K and FHD content. Internet connection is more than adequate: wired, 100mb.
2) Playback of 4k content (stored on my NUC - 1TB SSD) using VLC player stutters. Unusually, there is no stuttering when playing the same 4K content using the native Windows player.
Any help or guidance on these issues would be appreciated..... hopefully it's a simple fix :-)

Which eGPU solution recommanded for NUC6I7KYK ?
Hello,
I have a Intel NUC Core i7 Skull Canyon NUC6I7KYK / RAID 0 mSATA (2x512Go) / 32GB DDR4 / Windows 10 64Bits that works great but limited when it comes to run fluently recent video games.
I've seen that, using eGPU via TBT3 interface, you can have a great solution.
I've seen Razor, Akitio among eGPU solutions. But I would like to know which one is stable / fully tested (bug free).
Any feedbacks would be welcome.
Thanks in advance

Integrator assistant
I've attempted to run Integrator Assistant on my NUC7i7BNH and my NUC6i5SYK, but in both instances it crashes my machine and forces it to restart.
Are there any plans on releasing an updated Integrator Assistant that is compatible with either the NUC7i7BNH or the NUC6i5SYK?
