Intel driver and support assistant shows me that i have installed version 17.2.71.2 and the newer version is 17.2.71.250. Well, after downloading the update (TBT_WIN10_64_17.2.71.250), installing it and rebooting the box the driver and support assistant is still showing me that i have installed Version 17.2.71.2 and an update is available. I have installed Version 3.2.0.9 of the Intel driver and support assistant.

NUC7I3BNH Power State Indicator not working

Dear Community,

I have an issue with my NUC since I upgraded the BIOS to the latest version 0062. After the successful upgrade, the Power State Indictator doesn't work anymore.

It doesn't work when I select the function for the Power Button LED

It doesn't work when I select the function for the Ring LED.

Selection HDD Activity works for both the Power Button LED and the Ring LED, so the components are not broken.

I can even set the Power LED and Ring LED to HDD Activity Indication simultaneously and they will both indicate properly.

Are the any known issues with the BIOS version and the Power State Indicator function?

Without thunderbolt devices plugged in, everything work fine but...

When i connect to a monitor through thunderbolt port, my HDD connected to front usb port will be disconnected after few minutes.

(I'm using windows 10 64bit and I already installed all lastest firmwares, drivers, bios and restarted my NUC).

Please check it.

Support for Kingston HyperX HX424S14IB/4

Hi,

According to nucblog.net's review (link) NUC7CJYH (and likely NUC7PJYH) don't appear to work with Kingston HyperX HX424S14IB/4 (2400 MHz CL14-14-14) memory in dual channel mode. Apparently, the system simply won't boot with both sticks installed. This memory has specifications and an arrangement that "should" be supported by this NUC. It should also be mentioned that the slightly lower spec HyperX HX421S13IB/4 (2133 MHz CL13-13-13) works fine in dual channel mode.

This is some rather decent memory, which I have available and was planning to use on the NUC7PJYH, and it would of course be nice if you made it work with these NUC's. Is it possible to look into fixing this incompatibility in a future BIOS/UEFI release?

NUC7i5BNH won't boot from drive

Hello everyone I got a question about my newly bought (1st time ever) NUC. Where I seem to run into problem after problem, okay so first the sytem specs:

Intel NUC 7th gen i5 BNH

M.2 Sata ssd Crucial MX-300 275GB

(Optional for testing purposes) Samsung 850 EVO sata 2.5"

Kingston KVR21S15S8/8 8GB DDR4 SO DIMM 2133mhz , Also tried Corsair Value Select 2x4GB 2133mhz (both got detected in the bios just fine)

When I first got the nuc I installed the corsair sticks and got stuck on the Intel nuc splash screen. After some time it would reboot and say failed post attempts with the led flashing 3 times. So I thought the wrong ram, and ordered the Kingston compatible ram.

Also I could not press f2, f7 or f10 since the keyboard would not respond at all (on all usb ports), changed keyboard aswell and with no luck.

After some testing with the drives installed, the 850 EVO and not the M.2 and vice versa, I left  out all the drives, suddenly I could press F2 and get into the bios. So the nuc doesn't seem to be DOA.

Now the problem seems to be whenever a drive is installed the M.2, 850 EVO or a 5400 rpm hdd it won't boot and also I can't get into the bios (keyboard does not respond). If I have only a bootable usb stick it would boot just fine into the OS installer.

What I also tried is updating the bios since it comes with version 60 and I downloaded the 62 on a usb stick but upon selecting it with F7 it gives me a error saying 'error updating capsule' (can't seem to find any info on it on google).

So after hours on google I'm stuck with no options in my mind to try out.

Any suggetions or if this is a common problem? Seems to me it's a legacy boot issue?

Hello and good morning.

2 days ago i got the Biosuptdate from 57 to 61. From this Moment on my NUC cannot wake from S4 or S5 with my IR Command. I have to use Power Toggle 2 or 3 times to wake my NUC.

I replaced BIOS back to 57, but than I have Problems with my Optane and the Nuc doesn't start my windows. BUT, he wake up with the first PowerON command from my IR. After flash to 61 I need 2 or 3 times to wake... Than i change th IR Driver to the last older version, but there is no change...

In some German Boards a few people have the same Problem with NUC6 and 7 after flashing the new Bios...

For me I have a solution to wake my NUC. I use CEC and I can wait for the next BIOS. So use my note as information...

Kind regards

Uwe

I will be purchasing the NUC8i7HVK (With the i7-8809G Processor) very soon, but I have a question concerning the supported memory... listed in Intel's specs for the NUC8i7HVK it states the maximum supported memory as... 32GB of " DDR4-2400+ 1.2V SO-DIMM " -- Can anyone explain what the ' + ' means, showing after the DDR4-2400 ( + )

Thanks in advance for any clarity

NUC 6CAYH will not turn on

Hello, I have the NUC NUC6CAYH. I use it with Windows 10 1709 64BIT. Unfortunately, since the Bios 47, I have rarely been able to turn it on with my Harmony Ultimate. This has always worked perfectly up to the Bios 042. I do not mean the Standby S3, but from the completely switched off state. Usually it works like that for 3-4 days. Then again 6-7 days it does not work, I have to turn it on by hand.

Hello, where can I get the driver for this device please? The Driver update utility doesn't recommend anything and I couldn't find anything on the intel site.

Also - the fan is so damn loud in my NUC!! Is there any way to quieten it down? Having it in the lounge and trying to watch a movie is impossible.

Thanks

How to turn off power to speaker same time when my Intel NUC7i7BNKQ computer turns off?

Mr. Pearson, thank you very much for your reply with suggestion.

My speakers are powered from AC 120 wall outlet. I may take your advise to buy Amazon.com: TanTan Smart Plug WiFi Wireless Mini Socket Outlet and use it conjunction with Air Fly mouse and Key pad remote controller unless someone knows some appropriately-crafted software, the NUC could tell the socket to drop power to the speakers so that I am able to use one key stroke instead of 2 key strokes on air Fly Remote controller to turn off the system.

While we are on this subject, if my speakers are powered by USB then I have to change the BIOS setting. The NUC7i7BNKG BIOS for USB setting indicates S4/S5 together. Is this means whatever I use on S4 also loose power if I set not to power S5?

Dear Community,

It doesn't work when I select the function for the Ring LED.

Selection HDD Activity works for both the Power Button LED and the Ring LED, so the components are not broken.

I can even set the Power LED and Ring LED to HDD Activity Indication simultaneously and they will both indicate properly.

Are the any known issues with the BIOS version and the Power State Indicator function?

What controller is used in usb-c NUC7ixBNB?

As I understand the NUC7i5BNB and NUC7i7BNB use a usb-c thunderbolt 3 controller - what model is it from https://ark.intel.com/products/series/87742/Thunderbolt-3-Controllers ?

Another question is what controller model is NUC7i3BNB is using to support usb-c usb 3.1 gen 2 and display port 1.2? Are they not the same controllers?

I could not find the information in https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/boardsandkits/NUC7i3BN_TechProdSpec.pdf and https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/boardsandkits/NUC7i5BN_NUC7i7BN_TechProdSpec.pdf

Thanks!
